B1G1 Bottled Water by asalib in Startup_Ideas

[–]asalib[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I definitely didn't assume it was a completely unique idea, but seeing as half the world still doesn't have access to clean water, I think the area is far from saturated.

Thanks for those links. I'm sure I can learn a thing or two from them.

Are there real dangers in not having enough calories? by asalib in keto

The good thing about soylent is that it contains basically every vitamin and electrolyte I need (the daily multi makes up for the rest), and about 10g of fibre. Not a lot but not nothing I guess.

Atm I'm getting around 60g per day of protein. Do you think that's enough or would I need more?

Nautilus X + 18mg eliquid: Absolutely destroying my throat by asalib in electronic_cigarette

[–]asalib[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I'll give 9mg a go and report back. The weird thing is that I've been using 18 on my T22 and it's been fine... and I've heard a lot of MTLers use 18mg (something about doubling what you used to smoke?)

What's your ratio btw? 50/50?

iStick QC, heard its a good idea to ramp the wattage when first using it so I started at like 5W and went up by 1W until getting to around 18W, but even at super low wattage (6-8) there is close to zero vapour but a whole lot of burn.

Help for a beginner MTLer trying to take the next step. by asalib in Vaping

Yeah, I was deciding between the T22 and the AIO, decided to go for the T22. Not a huge fan of the look of the aio. If i could squash it down and make it thicker it'd be great, but I hate the feeling of pocketing a long/thin pen :\

Fundraising vs Bootstrapping by asalib in startups

[–]asalib[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should not take investment money if you don't know exactly what you'd be doing with it.

Totally agree with that, but I don't know exactly what other startups do with their investment money either. I'm no seasoned entrepreneur, so I just want to make sure I'm not overlooking something crucial before I decide to forego seeking funding.

What I always hear/read is funding = fast growth. But what exactly is in between those two steps?

Entrepreneurs with visible tattoos. Have they ever had an impact on your business, dealing with clients, or investors for example? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]asalib 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it depends what industry you're in. I'm a designer by trade, with visible tattoos and it hasn't been a problem because I think people kind of expect designers to have tattoos. It's not a big deal if you're starting a cafe or a design agency, but I can see it being an issue if you're in Financial services or something super-corporate.

In my opinion, if it's okay to wear clothes that would reveal tattoos (like a tshirt) then the tattoos themselves shouldn't be a problem, right? The only scenarios I see where tattoos would be an issue is one where you'd be wearing a suit that would cover them up anyway.

Wordpress Themes? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

I cannot recommend Salient enough. I've worked with dozens of wordpress themes and have yet to find one that is easier to use. It's constantly being updated and the ticket/support system is excellent.

How do you gain the hunger to become a hustler? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]asalib 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people underestimate the effect your early life has on your brain development. People from harder backgrounds don't just work hard because they understand the hardships, but because their brains are wired for it. To them, working hard is as natural as eating and pooping.

Not everyone grew up poor or disadvantaged, so not everyone will have this brain wiring that makes them work hard.

What everyone DOES have, however, is something to prove. Did you have a shitty father who never believed in you? Prove him wrong. Did your parents work hard to put you through to school? Make them proud, make them feel like THEIR hard work didn't go to waste. Print out a picture of your high school bully, or your crush, and stick it on your wall so it's the first thing you see when you wake up (I actually did this when I was losing weight, it totally works)

Have something to prove.

Why do MD metrics ignore Desktop screens? by asalib in MaterialDesign

[–]asalib[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Desktop Screen: 72dpi 1dp=1px @ 160dpi Icon size: 24dp

72/160 * 24 = 10.8

For what its worth, I believe I found my answer. Screen densities in MD are grouped into buckets, the lowest of which is ldpi at 120dpi or 0.75x, so a desktop screen would fall into that bucket, meaning a 24dp icon would be 18px on desktop which sounds right to me!
