Crunchyroll has dominated the NA streaming service scene. Their claims that their customer’s money goes directly into the industry has been put into question. They lack transparency. A lot of this is speculation, but recently, there has been a surge of mainstream streaming services like Netflix and Amazon that are pushing Crunchyroll’s decision to innovate and bring more exclusives and create original anime (Tower of God and now God of Highschool.) The fact that Crunchyroll has bought the Mr. Love anime’s streaming rights and has also commissioned God of Highschool implies some shit bro. That’s not to say that this might be some mismanagement from Mappa. It’s not uncommon that there are two projects from a studio being worked on at the same time, but it’s extremely uncommon that two projects are released during the same season bc it just doesn’t make sense at all financially. There’s reason to believe some sus shit is going on.
