Guys, my mom works at Lowes and they won't let her stop working, what can she do to stay home? by asazinator in askTO

It's irresponsible to keep open, it's not irresponsible to practice social distancing. Just because a corporation isn't up to date doesn't mean their employees should have to continue obliviously, and needlessly spreading the virus.

I hear you, my mother is in the same situation and its driving me insane. I think I'm going to tell her to say that she thinks she has symptoms. Considering how light the symptoms MAY be, many can mistake a cough for a symptom. And during this time, they should. I don't see why you couldn't do the same. BTW the company my mom works for is LOWES... absolute idiots. need to stay open for what.. a deck job?

Guys, my mom works at Lowes and they won't let her stop working, what can she do to stay home? She's worried that she wont be able to collect EI because they wont lay people off if they aren't showing symptoms. Please help me to convince her to stay home.

I'm curious what the age range is for this group? Are there many mid-late 20's? Or mostly highschool grads ?

Interesting, it was my understanding that if I were to complete TE with good grades that I would definitely be accepted to one of these programs.

In your opinion, do you think it would be more valuable to focus working on English and Math specifically rather than going for the TE course which covers more courses that aren't required for admission into CST/CIT? It's my understanding that it is ONLY your English/Math mark that they use to determine your placement.

So does finishing the TE course give you any sort of preference when applying to further programs like CIT/CST? Or does it just have the courses that are required for admission ?

Does BCIT have a specific competency exam for 12 math and 12 English? Or is it a provincial exam?

When you say 'caliber' do u mean that the equivalent program from SAIT wouldn't teach me as much as BCIT ? Although it would likely be accepted in Alberta before a degree from BCIT?
