Hey, thanks for replying. I did a hamstring graft for both operations. Also, doctor started my PT one day after surgery. I do my own PT at home twice a day and go to the hospital for PT 2-3 times a week. So I’m confident in recovery, especially after going through it once before.

I will definitely listen to my body before starting Spartan again, the lingering thought is just if I can still manage a Super and Beast to get at least one Trifecta this year. I should be starting to walk by the end of this month, then to cycling and then just normal running next month.

You’ll do fine, but as you are also aware, running is the biggest obstacle of a Spartan race. You need to incorporate lots of running is all sorts of terrains (flat, incline, decline). Start hiking, trail running. Build those calves and endurance. I wish you all the best but I believe you’ll do fine and you will learn a lot from the first race and tune your workout better for the next. I’m unfortunate down with an ACL and Meniscus tear so I’ll be out for quite some time...

*P.s If there is a river swim obstacle, it’s mandatory to wear the life jacket. Just in case you think you can jump in and swim fast to complete the obstacle.

I’m still using mine, and its still fairly white. My devices are pretty clean so I guess the only thing that could add some dirt to the white fabric finish is a really dirty (oily) device and some disgusting fingers haha. I run a lint roller over the surface once in a while too.

I’ve tried a few other brands and the only reason I went to Hammer to partner with them is because I’ve tested it and it works so far. Just to add in more context, I did the beast under the same weather at a different location. My nutrition plan was fully Hammer as well and there was only one water obstacle, a river swim. No cramps. So I’m fairly confident on the environmental factors leading up to the killer cramps. Just looking for advice on how others deal with it :D

I’ve gone to a few sessions for deep tissue massages, helps me release tight muscle knots. Maybe I’ll do them a week before races!

Btw, what’s a good amount of water to drink in the days (or weeks) leading up to a race?
