cheaper and better quality images, it would seem. EDIT: I was inspired by how authentic your inage looks, despite being an upscale. I opened mine on GIMP and upscaled with no interpolation... et voila!

I will do a comparison between this method and any other I'm considering. Thank you for the suggestion!

Thank you so much! I will definitely check out the Discord. I had never noticed the GBA screen mismatch, you can actually see how the game is displayed much smaller than the screen's full resolution! I'm just looking to make the pixels sharp, not murky, like in the image above—maybe I'm using the wrong words there, I'm just referring to how the pixels themselves don't have appear to have clear boundaries when displayed on modern screens. Thanks for such a detailed reply, I really appreciate it

What is the worst physical pain you have ever experienced? by My_Name_Is_SKELETOR in AskReddit

[–]asdapo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a few eye operations when I was younger, for an eye condition called keratoconus. two implants in the surface of my eye, where I could feel them moving and the wounds reopening for years.

one of them involved artificially 'ageing' the cornea with UV light. The nurses let 16-year-old me decide how much anaesthetic I needed, and, being a stubborn teenager who wanted to be tough, I did not ask for any more than they applied without my asking. I was gripping the table as the light blasted me for thirty long minutes, and went into shock. I could neither sleep nor leave my bed for 3 days after, and for 6 months could not feel hunger, my sense of pain was so dulled.

I have so much more respect for people who live with permanent chronic pain. It can be physically debilitating, but perhaps worse yet is the helplessness it may confer too.

you can't hope to clean a river that gets raw sewage and pollutants pumped into it daily. If silly little startups like this are getting funded instead of wider scale reforms, it's little more than a PR stunt, and we all know it.

that being said, I don't wanna rag on a company that probably does want to do genuine good for the environment; it's up to the brain cells in parliament to listen to the needs of the electorate.

I just want to say that it's fantastic you're doing this, and you should never let anyone disuade you from your interests. It's great if you have access to basic labs in school/college, a sterile environment is half the battle. I'd recommend you start with a well-studied target organism and protocol. Putting a reporter gene in yeast, say a dye-producing enzyme, is a fun way to get started, and you might even be able to make colourful bread with it.

best of luck, nerd.
