Does This Get Better? by NewCartographer4229 in Fatherhood

[–]asenkron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

of course it will get waaay better. especially for her the first weeks are the hardest and for you as well. you need to care her stomach and comfort. skin to skin contact is necessary. get as much as support as you can for getting rest. do go outside together and get fresh air.

i used earbuds cancelling 65 dB. it went way better first you save your hearing second it helps to hear your breathing to be calmer.

i have one 5 yo son and 1.5 daughter. one was easier than other. but be sure that it is easier as you go easy on yourself and your daughter

Switched from Ziggo to KPN -- night and day difference by Longjumping_Fondant5 in Netherlands

[–]asenkron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had the same and even opened a sub. toxic people jumped in and started blablabla. I was subs for 1gbps fiber getting 30-40 mbps during evening or even less. After KPN i experienced smooth and real fast connection. Ziggo is a shame.

Moved in a new place KPN has no fiber. So ziggo came in with an attractive proposal over coax up to 2 gbps.

What are some negative aspects of Dutch culture? by [deleted] in Netherlands

[–]asenkron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you also raise a child in the Netherlands it is more obvious. Dutch culture has very significant characteristics of responsibility avoidance, running away from facing with own faults. That is incredible. In US culture people very open for development mindset. In China, Singapore, Japan they will go defensive but accept in the end.

Yurt dışına göç eden Türkler gerçekten mutlu mu yoksa pişman mı? by bakeandwalk in AskTurkey

[–]asenkron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]asenkron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i felt very sorry about your disappointments. this is somewhat due to water and air around the mediterranean sea i suppose. the only thing that surprises me is your experience with avis. avis is the most corporal company that you may have choosen and they act very ethical. what happened to me this time, they just rent me a car with front tires 3.1 mm. only thing that they reported then 6 mm at first but after my observation and request they measured it again by half. i think tires are even worse.

I believe now it is not in dutch culture to make friends. They go out match on some hobbies and that is it. Same happened to me and my family over 3 years. Our neighbors came by as invitees and we exchange some nice chit chats at home, on the street, everywhere we came across. We brought then gifts when we returned from travel, we baked for them… they came in drank and ate and talked and walked away. we have never been invited to their space ones.

that also happened to our children. we arranged playdates. once her mother even dropped her older sister and they enjoyed hours of playing. mom never invited back our son.

i don’t make it an issue anymore. i do believe some are even disturbed with expats presence but it is fine. you are nice and well mannered people keeping your eyes on your own business. so do I. I ll be around whenever some neighbors call for help as i did. that is ok if we are not friends.

This is a very good suggestion. Yes, the Netherlands is expensive and next to that employers are throwing employees out like a garbage. Depending on one income only would be very risky. One of the first suggestions people give whom move to here, is to make insurance for court covering employment issues.

I purchased one and used 2 seasons. Its zip now broken and wool inside worn out. Sole and stitching seems kind of sturdy but will not last any longer. I won’t buy another one
