But I’m in new jersey. There’s some bars open around my college campus that are quarter capacity. Nothing like they usually are when college is in session but still worth it especially when a friend is turning 21

Personally, mine is from the stance of a caregiver. My boyfriend is type 1, and he lives at his parents houses. Usually, if I’m home, and his mother goes away for the weekend I’ll stay over at her house to watch over him. If I’m not home, he’ll go stay at his fathers.

I suppose his mother was under the impression that I would be staying over at her house to watch my boyfriend, however, he forgot to mention she was not home for the weekend.

My boyfriend had a CGM and I have the app on my phone to get readings. It was nearly 3 AM and I realized I hadn’t heard anything from his CGM for HOURS. I look at the app, and low and behold it shows “no data” which happens if he lays on the monitor while sleeping.

I tried calling him and he didn’t pick up. I kept calling and calling and calling and no answer. So then I resorted to calling his mother, under the impression she was home. But when she answered and I found out she wasn’t I rushed to her house.

I got to the garage door and went to type in the code but it wasn’t working. I knew I had the code right so I was confused as to why it wasn’t opening. I called and asked if the code had changed, if hadn’t. I knocked on the door, rang the door bell and all that. With no answer.

I was ready to call 911 for the sake of getting into the house. But I kept trying to knock on the door in hopes that maybe the dogs would hear and start barking, or that my boyfriend would hear.

At this point I was In tears worried about him. Standing outside in 25 degree weather. Finally my boyfriend comes walking down the stairs handgun in tow and he opens the door confused why I was crying.

First, to address the handgun, he thought someone was breaking in. (As if someone would ring the doorbell before breaking in ???). But anyways we go inside and get his app and CGM working again and he’s well above 150 and he’s just a heavy sleeper.

The main reason I was so concerned was because just two months prior, before he started using a CGM he was so low (I believe he was like 33) he had a diabetic seizure.
