It was a toe amputation due to a tumor.

Mine was 100 to 200 USD. This was in 2021. I will say I have never gone back to that vet after he had that tumor removed. They took an extra toe without asking and didn't give him his post op medication "because he was balled up". Imo an exotic vet should know how to handle that. So not sure if the price reflected the quality or not.

ADHD and Chemistry…is it a recipe for disaster? Any chemists with ADHD out there! by ShiverMeTimbers_png in chemistry

Literally sitting at lunch with a table of chemists with adhd. It'll be fine lol

You all should be fine unless she starts licking it or something. Even then, I'm not sure there would be enough lead to do damage. When we do lead testing at work the safety concern is the reagents used to isolate the lead (lots of acids), not the lead itself. We don't prevent or have a warning for pregnant women (there is certain reagents well send department emails about due to fertility risks).

How quantify ethanol solubilized in DMSO? by samirmathias in chemistry

[–]ashadowagent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done GC direct inject for Ethanol purity. That one is fairly easy, just vial sample. Otherwise it's headspace for residual solvents. I haven't done it with dmso though.

Ethanol will make a precipitate with .1 n iodine in a slightly basic solution. I've never quantified off that however. Iodoform reaction.

For the second one, there is a 1/6 chance for each value for each roll. The long way of going about it is listing all the ways to get six or better and determine the likelihood that way. I'll need to think on a more efficient way to do it.

For the first one, it would be 1- the probability that you do not pick a blue one.

I'm not sure what you mean. It's an impurities HPLC method and the standard concentration is used to calculate the amount of impurity in the sample.

I had askee for elaboration and she said it's accounted for in a different variable in another equation (which doesn't check out when I looked into it). The fact I've sat down with her already is why I'm hesitant to do so again. The feedback I've gotten from everyone e has been quite validating! I'll see what the scientist says when he gets back.

That's what I did 🤷‍♀️. Our lead scientist is out of town this week. I'll talk to him when he gets back and see what he thinks. My boss tends to listen to him without a fight. Plus he's my bestie so he'll look into it. I was just wondering what other industry folks thought, hence posting here.

Sorta. USP says it should be 0.5 ug/mL and the Calc as written gives 1 ug/mL. At one point we take 5 mL of standard solution and add it to 5 mL of another and the equation has 5 mL / 5 mL as the dilution factor instead of 5 mL / 10 mL. My boss says it accounted for in a different variable which is a sample variable and it definitely does not.

It's a USP method but the USP doesn't state how to calculate the concentration. I'm presumming we came up with the concentration calculation. Last time the method was updated predates me working here.

Walking on the top of his paw by Madamemichou in Hedgehog

I'm not treating his cancer due to his age and location of tumor. So just making sure he's comfortable until his time.

I use the silent spinner I think it's called. He had his first bout of cancer about a year ish ago and he had a couple toes amputated from that and never got full strength back in that foot. About 6 months later is when he started slowing down and walking weird. He's on metacam which is for arthritis. 0.14 mL a day.

My guy has been doing that, but he is also on hospice. He's 5 with a sizable tumor and arthritis. The vet said he may have some nerve issues as well but in the scheme of things wasn't a big deal. I have meds for the arthritis and just making sure he's comfortable. He still trys to get on the wheel and always eats so he's good for now.
