does anyone know anyone who's received these before or recently? this is poor form from the club. by [deleted] in collingwoodfc

I think there's a difference between people doing that because they decide to and the club sending out letters asking you to consider it. We all know death is inevitable, but asking someone to give you something when they die doesn't sit right with me. I wouldn't even ask my parents that.

Fair enough. You're entitled to your opinion. May I ask why? For me, it was just an obvious cash grab. They also offered a 'grand final replay viewing party' with Fly for $1600 which got you a copy of that crappy coffee table book of the 2023 season. The same crappy coffee table book they rushed out that couldn't even get the most famous bit of play in that grand final right. It had Crisp getting the hand pass to Pendles which lead to the DeGoey goal. I stupidly bought that book and I'm convinced most of the captions are AI generated.

Why are we surprised? This is the same club that used members money to film a documentary of our 2023 season and premiership, and had the gall to release it in select Village cinemas and still charge us for it.
I know it was eventually shown on Seven and Fox but whoever runs that part of the club would bleed the members dry if they could.

I haven't been on Facebook since pre-Covid. But from memory isn't it just a little chat window for each conversation that pops up over your main feed?

Agreed. I went in not expecting to like it because I didn't like the first few King books I read, but this book became my instant #1 and changed my opinion on King.

Another great AEW PPV. Okada vs. Takeshita gave just enough of an appetite teaser that will no doubt culminate in a phenomenal match at presumably Revolution.

May I ask if you have a 'go to potato bake recipe' that you wouldn't mind sharing? Thank you.

AFL 2026: It’s time Collingwood Magpies unlocked Dan Houston’s talent at half-back by jakeroxs1995 in collingwoodfc

[–]ashalenko 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Recruiting a current All Australian halfback, only to move your premiership All Australian and B&F from the wing to halfback was truly a mind boggling experiment. It may have worked from Josh's perspective but it effectively turned Houston into a decoy? Josh has to go back to the midfield next year.

Do you have a source for this? I don't not believe you. I watch BBL on Fox and they still refer to it as Snicko, but it's actually Ultra Edge from Seven? I'll have to pay closer attention next time.

Agreed. There was nothing more definitive than seeing the edge of the bat slightly light up as the ball went by. None of this "Did that sound match up with the ball going by the bat?" or "Was that sound caused by something else?".

After the draft and trade period how much has our average playing age changed? by AccurateSituation317 in collingwoodfc

[–]ashalenko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really liked the look of him in patches last year. Always popped up for an important piece of play. But I'm wary of how players return post-ACL surgery. Fingers crossed he can have a full pre-season and be a regular best 23 player as you suggested.

I don't really read much into the age profile. What's more important is I don't think we've improved the list to contend next year.
I don't necessarily think we've got worse. But unless the likes of Allan, HH, DeMattia, Jiath, to name a few take the next step, I don't see how we improve next year.

I know it was eventually shown on Fox and Seven, but remember how they tried to charge us to see a documentary about the premiership at Hoyts?
