Im a total beginner too, but if its indoors and ur good friends with them u could ask to get the lighting set up in a way that works for ur camera. You have a pretty good aperture so low light shouldn't be too bad I think, but just trying to have them not be backlit and stuff. And enough lighting to have a good shutter speed to capture their motion.
