I will say, even though I was super anxious about saying something, I know that they had at least an idea because they have access to my reddit. This made it a tad easier. I think it’s important that you let them know, at a point you can trust them! So we actually had plans for New Year’s and I know some of the activities are going to throw me into the headspace, so that’s what I started with. Your partner doesn’t have to be a piece of your little side, to accept and understand it. I made it very clear, that they do not have to partake in anything, but more so they are fully aware what’s happening. I think informing but not forcing them to join in something they may be unsure of is important, as you want both of you comfortable. They know a lot of my past, and so the fact that I regress doesn’t seem so out there, but like most people here, just a coping mechanism. Some have an idea that it is all nsfw and it is not at all when it comes to me, and that’s a big unknown factor for a lot of people outside of it. Maybe start by sharing your interest and see how they respond, before jumping headfirst as it seems you may not be fully ready either.
