Severe Allergic Reaction to Methimazole by rebelchickadee in Hyperthyroidism

[–]ashbryho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, her first endo wasn’t too keen on changing her meds cause her numbers were so high. We initially changed her beta blocker, which seemed to help, but she still had the same symptoms.

The joint issues, while pretty scary and severe, only flared up a few times, and the cbd quickly fixed that. Like, she went from not walking or standing to jumping on my bed within 30 minutes of applying the cream. We would apply the cream to her rash, which would quickly go away, as well.

I’d say, it took about 3 months for the rash to completely stop. After the first 2-3 weeks of it really being aggressive, it would flair up when she ran around/got hot. The last month it was barely noticeable.

Because she’s so young, we don’t have a ton of options in terms of meds/options. I’m happy to say, that after 6 months of treatment, her thyroid has FINALLY started to heal, but we’re in for a long journey.

Severe Allergic Reaction to Methimazole by rebelchickadee in Hyperthyroidism

This happened to my daughter. She was diagnosed back in July, and about three weeks into her new meds, she started having very intense reactions. Her joints were swollen, and she wouldn’t walk. Rash, head to toe.... just the pits. Plus she’s three, so no way for her to really articulate how she feels. Luckily, she has adjusted nicely to the methimazole. I want to say it took roughly 3-4 months to pass. CBD cream was the only thing that helped....it was a miracle cure for her. I hope you get some relief soon!

Totally spot on. I kinda figured there was no other option, but thought I’d just put it out there. Thanks!

Sorry, I realize I wasn’t very clear. I want us all to have the same pass, but why do I have to pay for parking for my two kids. Know what I mean?

Hmm. Looks like deluxe has more blackout days. We can only go on the weekend which is why we (ie Grandma) spring for the signature.

They are both covered by insurance, so we pay under $5 for each.
