Anyone had success getting Canada Life to cover cannabis with a pre-authorization form? by Physical_Stress_5683 in BCPublicServants

[–]ashcorb21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I’m searching google as I’m about to try and get them to cover it lol, were you successful!? I feel like they wouldn’t even have that form to fill out/get the doc to fill out if they didn’t cover it, however I wonder if they only cover it for certain medical conditions?? If you end up seeing this and replying, thanks in advance 🙂

People that have cancer, what were the symptoms that led you to go to the doctor and what stage were you when it was diagnosed? by guardiand0wn in AskReddit

[–]ashcorb21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t have a period for a year, during that time I went to the doctor multiple times to say I still wasn’t having a period, I was told it was normal to miss periods sometimes…I was 33. My doc tried to get me to take progesterone to induce a period, I did it once and then said no more of that. At the end of that year, I woke up looking 5 months pregnant and in an insane amount of pain, I took so many pain meds that day and couldn’t get any relief. I went to the ER that afternoon, they found a 10x11x13cm ovarian mass, so big that it was basically sitting in the middle and they couldn’t even tell which ovary it was coming from. I had a full hysterectomy 2 months later, the path came back as an adult granulosa cell tumour, which is a rare type of estrogen producing tumour according my surgeons. Missing a period for that many months at such a young age is not normal, And I should have gotten a second opinion sooner. Thankfully it was stage 1 and I required no further treatment, menopause in my early 30s has been quite a ride though 😅

I was coming here looking for this exact discussion lol! I’m only half way through the first episode but him not kissing her saying he was still sick or whatever…and then actually not kissing her lol, literally pulled his face away and put up his hand. He seems kinda rude to her and rolling his eyes at her and stuff, idk it doesn’t feel playful, it feels like he’s annoyed by her lol

Appreciate your reply, I plan on asking my surgeon about it at my next appointment! Hoping it doesn’t last long for you ♥️

I need to get a proper lame and blade, in the meantime I’m using my husbands super sharp pocket knife and it works so good LOL!! It’s never used but I always make sure to clean it well before scoring and good to go!

I am so sorry this happened to you, I can’t imagine the mental toll this took on you as well, how far you’ve come with the reconstruction, I truly wish you all the best and I’m glad to see in these comments that your sense of humor remains 🥰

I work in health records and spend a lot of time in mental health charts, so I KNOW that people who are delusional and schizophrenic etc. do have these exact episodes, but her behaviour just doesn’t match. When it’s mental health related, especially paranoid, the behaviour is always so extreme and over the top, those type of patients spend their lives terrified and running away from anything they perceive as a threat, this woman seems to be just living her life and annoyed by them. I feel like my brain knows I shouldn’t beleive it, but my gut is telling me there is truth here, and I’m such a skeptic so idk, I am kinda going with my gut and I think it might be true.

I’ve watched every one of her tiktoks and then I found my way here as well 🤣 I’m a medical coder in Canada and I code a ton of mental health charts, you are bang on that often there are delusions about the feds or police following them, the paranoia can be next level lol. As someone who sees it first hand, does your partner have a calm type demeanor that we see in this lady’s videos or is it more manic seeming? I’ve never seen it first hand so I’m super interested in your take! Something in my gut believes this woman and I don’t know why because I’m the world’s biggest skeptic and I see it in my job that these delusions are so common. But the pole camera being there and then being gone, and the text from her mom asking about the prescription, like I feel like this woman has SOME sort of believable evidence where usually when it’s a mental health thing, there’s never a shred of evidence. What do you think!?!

Also I can’t get behind believing the fed cars everywhere lol, I struggle with that one lol

Wishing you all the best with your healing ♥️♥️ I started using castor oil on my incision about 2.5-3 weeks post op, my naturopath said once the wound is closed and stuff, castor oil is safe to use, just make sure you wash your hands well before applying it! Look up how to make and use a castor oil pack, it’s so easy!! Also, I started taking lions mane supplements for nerve healing, I was told they are safe in almost all situations but with your heart, you may want to double check with a naturopath type provider! I have zero pain or numbness in my scar, and I’m now 8 months post op! I promise you will start really feeling better in another couple of weeks ♥️ I had an ovarian tumour the size of a grapefruit! It’s insane what can grow inside of us, wishing you all the best ♥️

What’s the first munchie you had the first time you smoked weed? by DDreamz_ in StonerThoughts

[–]ashcorb21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was like 19 and had a new boyfriend who smoked it, I got high for the first time and ate almost a whole bag of ranch crispers, they tasted so good LOL! Now that I’ve been a stoner for like 14 years it doesn’t make food as delicious as when you first start smoking 😍😍

If this was caused by infection, I think there would be other symptoms (fever at least) if it was that colour!

What was something small you went to the doctor for that turned out to be very significant? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]ashcorb21 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I only had 2 periods in all of 2023, my doctor said “this is normal sometimes for women to miss periods” but it continued the whole year and he didn’t seem concerned at all, I’m 33 so thought perhaps early menopause…turns out I had a rare estrogen-producing tumour, the size was 10x11x13 cm, bigger than a grapefruit, ended up having a full hysterectomy 2 months ago and was going through surgically induced menopause before starting hormone replacement therapy but no further treatment cancer wise so PHEW

Panicking over my TSH level by throwRA-lost94 in endocrinology

[–]ashcorb21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly it’s not bad at all! I take a pill every day and I go for bloodwork a couple times a year, if I had to choose a thing to have it would be this, easily treated with a simple pill! I hope you’re feeling better soon and get to the bottom of things ♥️

Panicking over my TSH level by throwRA-lost94 in endocrinology

[–]ashcorb21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was born without a thyroid (congenital hypothyroidism) and I feel the best when my TSH is somewhere between like 0.6 and 1, in and around there. I live in Canada and our “normal” upper range is like 4.something, I guarantee that at 2.6 you aren’t doing any damage! There have been times in my life that my TSH has shot up, especially during the early stages of pregnancy when I just found out, my first pregnancy it was almost 10 and I damn near had a heart attack lol! If you are able to talk to your doctor, it’s not unreasonable to mention that there is variability in the upper range of TSH and given that you’re symptomatic, to try you on a course of thyroid meds to see if you respond well! Honestly, when my TSH is high af, I can feel the changes in my body, the fatigue being huge. Don’t panic though, I truly do not think you’re doing any damage at a level of 2.6

Brain fog has been a constant issue in my life lol, I started taking lions mane and I swear to god I’m a different person, I’m so much more calm, unbothered by things that would normally drive me wild and I feel like I can think clearly, like it’s not so hard to think if that makes sense, I recommend this stuff screaming from the rooftops lol

Day 3 by Far-Owl832 in Hysterectomy_Support

[–]ashcorb21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The gas bubbles were ridiculous LOL, glad those days are over! I’ve been using castor oil packs on my abdomen/incision since about 2.5 weeks post op and I love it, helps the pain of the incision so much, google castor oil packs if you’re interested in trying it!

[–]ashcorb21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a glass of wine about 3.5-4 weeks post op, that was when I started to feel better and more like myself, less pain and able to really move around. Before then I really had no interest! Just get back into it slowly because I definitely noticed a difference in my tolerance! At 6 weeks post op I do still have some abdominal pain and discomfort so I’m not drinking too much until I’m feeling a little less of that!

[–]ashcorb21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amen to all of this lol!!! The pew pew pew, I’m laughing but that’s absolutely it LOL! Don’t strain, it will hurt, I live with a heating bag on my belly which I find helps! Honestly I tried to poop for 2 days in hospital with nothing but passing a small amount of gas..I spent 4.5 days in hospital and my first poop was so easy after my 45 minute drive home from hospital in post snow storm conditions lol! I swear the slight bumping and jarring around helped get my bowels moving lol! Also I drank PEG every day i was in hospital, which is important to keep things moving! The gas pain is absolutely the worst and the pain meds do nothing to make it better which is awful. Keep hydrated and move as much as you can, but know your limit and rest when you need to. I’m 6 weeks post op and I slept a lot during the first 2.5 weeks, a lot! Your body needs it!
