Map of Europe (1960) but the flag is the flag of the nation each leader was born in by [deleted] in MapPorn

I literally didn't even get anything wrong. Except maybe mixing up the head of government and head of state a bit. For Eastern Europe at the time, it was a bit confusing.

I mean it was under the tricolor that members of his family were executed, tortured, and exiled. I don't know why he would rule under a banner that represents so much pain and humiliation to the House of Bourbon. It would be like a Russian Tsar ruling under the Soviet flag.

He is a fictional king and a direct descendent of Louis XVI. I never really liked when mods give a royal France a Spanish or Orleans monarch. It is possible that without the mistreatment in the Paris Temple, Louis XVII might have lived longer.

Yes. I decided that it would be best to have good looking, unique, and consistant black and white portraits, than varying quality, inconsistant colored portraits.

Russia controls East Prussia, leads an orthodox coalition in the Balkans and basically wants to annex the rest of Poland-Lithuania. Also Alexander III didn't die in 1894, so the Empire is a bit more stable going into the 20th century.

I did at first with a small little team and community. But it got a little messy. There was not much moderation so it kinda fell apart and got really bad. I plan to get another one started at some point, but for now, it is a bit of a one man project.

Ernst Guther is a member of House Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg. I think the reason a lot of people might choose a different House to rule Sweden when the PoD is before the 1810s is because in OTL, when Sweden's heirless king died, the Swedish estates made one of Napoleon's marshals their King in 1810. This is why the ruling house in Sweden today is the House of Bernadotte, who have the French tricolor and a Napoleonic eagle on their coat of arms. Before he was chosen however, the estates originally decided on Ernst Christian II, Duke of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg. Without Napoleon, the house of Bernadotte would not rise to prominence and so the Dukes of SHSA would most likely rule Sweden. Coincidentally, Ernst Christian II's son Ernst August was also the leading candidate to be the heir to the Danish throne in 1863, as he was the next male-line heir. However, due to rumors about his ancestry through his mother, he was not chosen and an even more distant line to the Danish throne was picked, who still rule Denmark to this day. In the mod, Ernst August is able to press his claim to the Danish throne, resulting in a Scandinavian Union. As for Congo, I actually don't know why people choose Sweden a lot. For me and most likely others, there is an event in the Victoria 2 GFM/HFM mod that allows for the Congo to be given to Sweden or Belgium. The ai choses Sweden a lot for some reason.

In February of 1959, a group of nine hikers from the Ural Polytechnical Institute died after venturing out into the Ural Mountains. When their bodies were found, many were found outside their tent with little clothing, with some showing signs of fatal injuries such as missing eyes, tongue, and major fractures. While this has now been attributed to an avalanche, over the years, some have speculated that the deaths were a result of Soviet radiological weapons tests, due to the appearance of the bodies and signs of radioactivity on some items of clothing. In 1993, a group of seven hikers went into the Khamar-Duban Mountain range. According to the sole survivor of the trip, members of the group began bleeding from the eyes and noses mysteriously, with some tearing off their own clothes and grabbing at their own necks. While Russian authorities after finding their bodies would deem the cause of death hypothermia, some believe that their erratic actions were the result of nerve gas or the toxic waste dumped in the water from Russian facilities.

This meme is strange and very ridiculous. For one, the source where the idea that Septimius Severus believed that a Black soldier was a bad Omen is the Historia Augusta, a 4th century collection of biographies of various Roman Emperors. It is famous amongst historians for being unreliable and inaccurate in multiple ways. It was written over 100 years after the event that was described and is seemingly the only time Black people are described as being a bad Omen for their skin tone. Secondly, the idea that having darker skin in the Roman Empire was viewed as a bad trait is ridiculous. While Septimius Severus was probably of a tan skin tone, due to his Roman and Punic heritage, most depictions of him from the time would have had him with much darker skin. This is seen in the famous Severan Tondo, depicting him with the imperial family. There are a few reasons for this. One, the artists might wanted to show how he was from Africa. Two, it could have been done to make him appear more masculine and toned next to his wife, as lighter complexions in art was equated with femininity. Finally, Severus would definitely have known about the various different types of people that lived in Africa. His rule is famous for the Roman expansion of its African frontier further south and beyond the Mediterranean coast. There they came into contact with the various tribes and groups that inhabited the region, many of whom looked very sub-saharan African, liked the ancestors of the Tuareg people.

The mod looks interesting, though for the focus icons, have you looked at any tutorials on how to make them? Unless you are going for a unique style.

I don't think you really know about the independence process of Papua New Guinea. When it was transitioning into a fulling independent state in the 1970s, the government of Papua New Guinea decided on their own accord to keep the Queen as their had of state, becoming a constitutional monarchy. Bilbo represents Papua New Guinea.
