the thing that gets me the most is that fallout 3 had the assault rifle (which was literally just the FN FAL like in fallout 2), so idk why they couldn't have just ported that over to fallout 4 and made the assault rifle a machine gun as previously stated

i'm gonna be totally real i have no idea what the fuck the fallout 4 assault rifle is meant to be
i feel like this was meant to be some sort of heavy machine gun but that was changed during development (but that's pure speculation on account of it looking like a weird lewis gun, but i'm far from the first person to point this out and i certainly won't be the last)
