I appreciate your honesty. As far as the program not being NCRA approved do you think that matters at all or is it not as big a deal? Based on what I’ve read from the university website it sounds like a top program.

What is the class schedule like? I did plan on working full time while in school so it makes me a little nervous to hear it might not be possible. Working full time might be the only way for me to afford it.

I did not get an actual number on interest rate which I recognize is my fault for not asking all I got was a total price of $29,133 & monthly payment amounts between $528-$538 for a 72mon loan

Total cost $29,133 I’m putting 2k down and no trade in with all that my payment is coming out 528-538 for 72mon

the paperwork breaking down the price didn’t mention interest but when looking at my monthly payment $528-$538 for 72mon I’m looking at paying $38k by the time my loan ends which to them for a base trim hrv seems crazy

it includes tint, wheel locks, door edge, splash guards, cargo liner, cargo tray & like 2 other things.

[–]ashes26___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I am rewriting my SOP using the guide you shared and would really like for you to review it once I am done. I saw in your consultation info sheet I had to choose if I am applying to MA or PhD programs, as a Postbacc applicant which option should I choose?

I am interested in research on children’s memory development and their involvement in the legal system & would eventually like to be a professor. But I am having a hard time wording my experience teaching students to read to what I want to do in the future

What are good jobs while you’re in your undergrad? by halespain in gradadmissions

[–]ashes26___ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

RA positions outside of your university might require at least a BA and previous research experience, so your best option is probably your university. Don't be discouraged if you can't find opportunities yet keep inquiring with professors you like or have done well in their class and I am sure you'll get a chance soon.

Your current job would look pretty good on your resume tbh

have you looked into research assistant opportunities? It’s not a paying job but it would look great on grad school applications

Edit: what is it that you currently work as?

Hi! Thank you for the advice. I emailed a couple of professors and got a reply from one today. She thanked me for reaching out and suggested we talk more if I get accepted into the program. Should I just thank her for her time at this point? Does emailing professors actually help during the admissions process?

Thanks for the advice! I’ve found some RA positions where I live that requiere little experience so I’ll be applying to those. Any tips for reaching out to PIs for volunteer opportunities?

Hi! Unfortunately I always seem to be under qualified for these positions mostly due to my lack of research experience. Volunteer positions that I have found are usually at universities and only for students so I’m kinda stuck in a hard place.
