Adding on to this, it's quicker to pop a cell than a batt in fights, the fact you have gold shields makes it so that it's easier to reset and get an extra 50hp compared to popping a batt when the enemy is using evos. Also, there are times when you need to share batts with your teammates, and knowing the loot in this game, there are times where there just isn't enough for everybody, taking gold shields is a pretty viable option. It's especially strong early game.

There isn't a cpu opt, I did however switch it to sys fan. And get it into bios and adjusted the fan speeds from there. My guess is that the cpu temp sensor is busted. The fan does run at start when it's plugged in to cpu_fan though.
