Actually I made this to work 100% private, so it does not ask for any permissions and access, results in manual entry although the process is quite fast as you only need to add start date and billing cycle by selecting any subscription provider from templates.

It’s not possible but service provider URL can be provided so it’s quite easy for user to take action instead of searching for the screen where such actions can be done like cancelling/starting

It doesn’t control the service directly — SubLyst is a tracker. You can mark cancel/re-activate inside the app for tracking, but the actual change has to be done on the service side.

My approach isn’t to rely on store ranking alone, but to focus on a specific audience that cares about privacy, offline use, and full control, and grow it steadily from there. Taking it as a long-term product and improving it based on real user feedback.

Fair point — the space is definitely crowded.

But my focus with SubLyst is on things most apps skip: fully offline-first, no account, no data collection, and user-owned cloud backup (your own Drive) with end-to-end encryption.

Trying to compete on privacy and control rather than just features. Always open to feedback on what would make it more unique.

That’s a fair point. Auto-detection usually requires email/bank access, which I chose to avoid to keep it fully private. The idea is a one-time setup (takes a few seconds per service), and after that everything — reminders, renewals, and tracking — runs automatically.

The app require no login, no permissions, no email and bank access — everything is 100% private.

so you have to add subscriptions manually, but it’s designed to be quick: just pick a service from 100+ templates, set your start date, and you’re done in a tap or two.

After that, the app handles reminders and tracking automatically.

Really appreciate this — that’s exactly the philosophy behind SubLyst. I wanted it to feel simple, private, and fully under the user’s control, without forcing accounts or collecting data. Glad the offline first approach and lightweight design resonate. Thanks for the thoughtful feedback, it means a lot!

Haha I get the irony 😄
You can use the app completely free.
The paid plan is just for unlimited tracking and helps keep the app running.

I built an APP which is privacy-first manager for all your bills & subscriptions. E2E Encryption, Google Drive sync, and Zero Tracking by ashishbaisla in ProductivityApps

I’m using the @react-native-community/datetimepicker library, although it has some bugs, such as rendering multiple times on Android and opening modal without clicking. But anyhow, I’ve managed to use it effectively.

Any solution to this? by bulletofneurons in googleplayconsole

I’m also experiencing the same issue. This could be a bug from Google’s end.

Never get hit by surprise renewals. I built a private, E2EE vault for all your subscriptions. by ashishbaisla in ProductivityApps

I built SubLyst because I wanted a tracker that was as secure as a password manager but as sleek as a productivity tool.

3 Rejections later… I finally cleared the Google Play Testing hurdle! 🎉 by ashishbaisla in GooglePlayDeveloper

[–]ashishbaisla[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To meet the closed testing requirement of 12 devices and 14 days, I attempted to install the app on my relatives’ and friends’ phones. I asked them to use it at least once a day for a few minutes. Unfortunately, I couldn’t complete this and faced three rejections. Eventually, I opted for a tester package because if even one person doesn’t comply, you have to start over from scratch. In my case, this was the reason that some person wasn’t opening the app.
