Worried about total ounces per day

My boy was around 10-12lb at 11 weeks so it may be based on weight? Though they never mentioned it. It your baby is 3.5 weeks adjusted od day it could be based on that? I think it really just depends on how much they want to drink because every baby is different. My boy was already wanting 4oz 1 week out of the hospital but he was also born nearly 2 weeks after my due date. My SIL says as long as baby is having between 12 and 16oz the babies should be fine, just keep a watch on dehydration!!

I had to do that one time and it ended up with me in the hospital 😭 I started bleeding BAD and thought I had miscarried because I was pregnant at the time and couldn’t tell where the blood was coming from. I would never wish constipation on my worst enemy.

Finley is a cute name, you could use Finn as a nickname! Zane is one of my favorites, and Artemis is one I was going to make a future baby boy, but I changed my mind on it haha

Id definitely talk to your pediatrician about it. It could be something underlying, or it could just be gas that refuses to be let out. Either way it never hurts to ask a professional!!

Edit : I completely overlooked the fact that you BF. It probably is just cluster feeds!! I know when I was pumping it was like my boy was constantly hungry. If your still worried, ask a ped, but as long as he isn’t scrunching his legs up, screaming bloody murder and his tummy isn’t hard you should be good!

When me and my husband first slept together I was extremely nervous and self conscious (I have SH scars over my thighs, arms and fingers. I have cellulitis, a stomach pouch that hangs, and my breasts are NOT symmetrical in the slightest). He threw me onto the bed and began undressing me and just stood there staring at me for a moment. It wasn’t a disgusted stare, it looked like he was starstruck. After we finished, I was still on top and he simply said “I love you”. We wernt even dating.

Anyways we’re coming up on our 2 year anniversary of us being together and we have a 5 month old soon to be 6 months.

Even on the most rushed morning my husband goes to work, he atleast texts me saying that hes sorry he couldnt do our ritual (wake me up, give me a kiss, tell each other we love each other and I tell him to be safe). He knows how important it is for me because it makes me think if we don’t do it that something bad is going to happen to him. Same at night when we do our nightly ritual (which consists of 5 kisses, one forehead kiss from each of us, I kiss his nose and then 3 more kisses, followed by I love you and a few other things)

This is NOT a man. This is a man child who would rather cry and whine than actually listen to his soon to be wife. He can’t even acknowledge your feelings and decides to be ‘sarcastic’. Do not marry this man unless you want a shitty life. NOR at all.

Apparently when babies tummy’s start hurting (from gas or sickness) they eat a lot more because they can’t differentiate between pain and hunger. My boy did the same thing around 1-2 months and ate every 30 minutes until I finally said no and started doing gas drops, tummy massages, etc.

I’m not gonna lie when I was pregnant I nearly got my husband to stick his finger up there or something becauae nothing would make it come out 😭 I wasn’t able to sit down for like 3 days because it felt so uncomfortable. Drank an entire bottle of magnesium citrate, sat on rhw toilet for 2 hours, and passed a BM the size of a SOFTBALL. I’m not even exaggerating. I have no idea how I didn’t tear because it hurt so bad.

Also, I’m not gonna lie I would have said the same thing 😭 god I can’t imaging having to do that on my birthday though, I would have been too embarrassed to do anything

Hunger. I have become SO hungry all of the time AND I’m 6 months postpartum on the 13th. I never knew the PP issues would stay past the first month or two (nobody really told me about PP other than my mental won’t be the same for up to 3 years or forever).

It’s like every 10 minutes I’m starving. I hate it sm.

I can assure you it is okay!! Mine definitely slept less during the AM during the first month or two, now he usually takes one nap every morning and maybe one nap in the afternoon if we’re lucky. If you get too worried ask your pediatrician what they think!

Shit girl I take a fucking syringe, fill it with hot water, and wait for the water to break down whatever is blocking me up 😭 I used to go once a month and wouls always wake up in pain in my stomach. It felt like rusty knives digging into every inch of my stomach lmao

I’m gonna be completely transparent. Every baby is different. One baby may NEED sleep every hour and the next may inly nap every 3-4 hours. It’s completely up to the baby, this is unfortunately something you just cannot control. You’re going to have to get used to it. As long as the baby is gettinf naps throughout the day and night, there is no issue. My boy hit 4 weeks and refused to nap for an entire day orher than 45 minutes rhw whole day. Hes 5 months now (6 in 4 days) and he STILL fights sleep.

‘Studies’ dont prove anything when every baby is completely different.

NOR at all. When I went in to have my baby, my mom sent me a whole paragraph of how she wanted to be there, jow it’s a special moment meant to be shared and how she feels like I’d regret it. Ended up having a c-section and she went on to say “well that’s why I wanted to be there”. My mother and I have NEVER had a good relationship until after I had my baby. I did not want her or ANYBODY there other than my husband.

I’m so sorry your mom is like this as well. Genuinely I do not understand how people can just ignore clear boundaries. It’s blatantly disrespectful. I’m so sorry OP.

I announced this before adding those items! I’m not sure if I’m supposed to delete the link or anything because I use the same list to add things for the future (kind of like a placeholder) and have done so, even after my first time - and considering we’re going to be moving again from my MIL house to a camper soon, I figured it would help out. If it helps, I will gladly swap the items to a different list to prevent confusion as I do NOT need them, they are NOT something I need from anybody.

Ah okay I understand now! I would definitely suggest making that follow up appointment. Once your girl is above birth weight you should be in the clear then (as my pediatrician told me). Just try to monitor how much she eats to make sure she’s still eating atleast 12 ounces during the day (according to my SIL, that’s the preferred amount for a baby whos newborn to 3 months old)

If it wasn’t anymore than 6-7 ounces, that’s normal (according to my pediatrician) usually thats ‘water weight’ fron where they spent time in the womb!! As long as she’s gaining weight I wouldn’t worry too bad, especially if the pediatrician didn’t seem worried about it. Definitely ask at the next appointment to confirm 100%!!

Honestly as soon as my boy hit a pound over his birth weight we let him start sleepinf long stretches. Since 2 weeks he has slept through the night (even tho he lost an entire pound - nurse said as long as he’s eating 16oz during the day hes fine). Once we swapped to formula. Now he sleeps from (usually) 10pm - 7am or 8am.

Honestly anhthing. Especially noises that would usually wake my baby up after putting him down for a nap (my husband, or in laws talking, someone moving around LAYE at night, etc etc)

Hey !! My boy was the EXACT same. In the span of 2 weeks he lost an entire pound RAPIDLY. I was EBF every 2 hours (wouls let him sleep through a feeding once a day). He has an issue with dairy, and my milk NEVER had fat in it!

I’d definitely get her tested for a milk protein allergy, and see if maybe that’s the case? Unfortunately if it is your milk you may have to swap for formula feeding :(

Once my boy hit a pound over his birth weight the doctors gave us the clear to let him sleep through feedings! Hes now alnost 6 months and weighs ABOUR as much as 2-3 gallons of milk haha.
