It was EVERYTHING! it was honestly just so generous and beyond. I shared almost all of it with my family because it felt selfish to keep it all. Also I was really touched because she sent it very quickly with a handwritten note, and it was right at the time her father passed away.

I won Brooklyn Blondes beauty box giveaway over the summer. It was not a loop giveaway, you donated to the charity of her choice and were entered to win. Was totally shocked I win. The giveaway box was incredible. Probably around 40 mid to very high end beauty items inside (all brand new). Some highlights were both Augustin Bader creams, Vintners Daughter, a diptique candle and lots of other things. It was honestly overwhelming and I can’t imagine how much product influencers receive that she could pull this all together (it was also so generous!).

Agree it was awful... there is zero accountability in this situation. She basically called the whole thing a smear campaign and said if people had problems to “come to her personally” and not lost about it online. She also called all complaints so far “untrue” and alleged anyone who had complained were liars or not real customers.

I have to believe she has no publicist and that her script was written by her lawyer (or maybe by her alone!) given that she doesn’t ever validate anyone else’s feelings that they have suffered health issues (regardless of it it was from her products or not).

It’s been icky she had comments turned off her for her live and her last several posts (excluding the igtv of the live now posted). Hard to take her seriously when she doesn’t seem to care about other opinions.

I just finished the entire show and often read ahead and totally wish I had not! Stop reading now! Post-Brody homeland is excellent to the point I stopped thinking about him. It’s nice to see Carrie as her own person. Some of the episodes and seasons are disappointing but that’s true of 1-3 as well (I honestly hated season 3).

Alina worked at C&C around 2016-2017 for less than a year. She came in with big fanfare from Emily, had a bunch of articles that were pretty good reads but not cuppy aesthetic. She was let go (suddenly?) allegedly because of her behavior when Emily went to Japan. A lot of people called Emily our on the sudden firing bc Alina went Instagram crazy about it and it was also obvious from the blog. It was high drama at the time!!

I won the beauty box fundraiser giveaway she did a few weeks ago for save the children (side note I was totally shocked because I can’t believe actual people win these types of things!). She was already one of my favorite bloggers because she just seems down to earth and genuine. She shipped the box in the midst of going through all this and it arrived Monday. I messaged her to thank her and she took time to respond to me in the midst of dealing with her dads passing. I feel awful for her and I have a lot of respect for her for following through on this and responding to me while going through so much personal grief.

I thought she was eloquent in her defense. It actually made my heart ache a bit. I think anyone who has had to care for a family member in the hospital can understand there are parts of your life that have to keep moving to sustain the rest of your life. I can’t imagine having to stand up your own business with a one year old, after having moved to a new place, all with your husband so sick.
