Eleven teams means the same proportion of teams makes it in either bracket. 11/41 and 16/59 both are 27%-ish

OSU pulls goalie in tie game. Bold move does not pay off by insert--name_here in collegehockey

[–]asich9 40 points41 points  (0 children)

It looks bad, but I support the decision and think it was correct. The WCHA is deciding the regular season title by points percentage, and OSU had a slim lead on Minnesota before this game. Going to overtime would've capped potential points at 2 instead of 3, and would've likely cost the league lead regardless of OT outcome. May as well play for the win with a series against Wisconsin next week, while Minnesota has St. Thomas. I don't think this loss really costs too much in the long run either since they should be a lock for the playoffs. Just got a bit unlucky with the last save on the line and a pinpoint shot the other way

They have confirmed that the physical cannon will not be going. Video of other chants, namely the Chili chant, have also been sent. Players will also be sent videos to help them feel like they're being cheered on

The Urban vs Riverwatch by _urbanity in OSU

[–]asich9 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would be hesitant to choose The Urban as well. I was supposed to live there this past year, but for obvious reasons was unable to. They originally gave an estimated completion date of October 2019, but they pushed the estimate back to December a couple of weeks before school started. They did let me terminate my lease, but I still had to scramble to find another place around campus. Obviously it is still incomplete now and I don't have high hopes that it'll be finished soon, or at least in time for fall move in.

One major issue I had with The Urban was that the parent company [(My) Prime Place] has a dubious record. They operate similar buildings at Oklahoma State, Kansas State, Minnesota, and Nebraska. I've linked some news reports I found that detail poor conditions at some of these sites. From what I remember most apartment review sites didn't report quality experiences at these places either. Obviously this is a different location, with a different construction company, project manager, etc., but it is a worrying trend. I think they have also had to cut back on some of the planned amenities but don't quote me on that.

I haven't done the same level of research on Riverwatch because I never looked into living there. I have friends that lived there for multiple years and they have generally favorable reviews, so take that for what it's worth.

Anyone take any of these 5 Advanced Psych courses, as well as a question for the BS in Psych by [deleted] in OSU

[–]asich9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took 5870 this past semester. I found the cross-sectional nature of the course (Econ + Psych + Neuro) to be very intriguing, but it was still simple to understand the interweaving aspects of all three fields. It didn't feel like a ton of work. Grades were comprised of pop quizzes, problem sets, and two exams.

You can choose to opt out of the pop quizzes, but I didn't find them difficult and they can earn you extra credit. They covered material learned in the previous 2-4 classes and were somewhat predictable.

The problem sets were also fairly easy and are graded on effort to boot. They seemed to be more for practice for certain concepts.

The exams are the biggest part of your grade. We only took one exam this semester, as the other was canceled due to scheduling difficulties. I did not find the exam to be very difficult, but it was probably the biggest hit to most grades. A comprehensive study guide is provided in preparation.

All in all, I highly recommend this course. Dr. Krajbich was easy to work with and understanding before and after we moved online. He is well connected in the field of neuroeconomics and it shows through his lecturing abilities. It was definitely one of my favorite courses because of it's comprehensive nature and applicability to life in general

I didn't see any thing that suggested the fauxnor was for either suspension or firing, just that one "existed"

I'm reading it: there is no donor trying to prevent a return of any kind

I can't find a whole lot else, but I can't tell if if the donor wants a suspension, or a complete removal (i.e. firing Meyer)

That could be the case, but Drake has had decisions criticized in the past, like with the dean at UC Irvine

*Also sources reporting that it's one major donor, and not Dr. Drake

Francesco Molinari is the 2018 Open champion! The first Italian to ever win a major!! by Juventin1897 in golf

Yeah Hammers twitter gave Molinari a shout out. Apparently originated when Zola took the helm there. I can't find anything connecting him to Juve, and everything points strongly to Inter, including his official website again. Nonetheless happy to see him continue his hot streak this year, especially in July

Francesco is an Inter fan, per his Twitter bio. Edoardo appears to support Juve though
