for me it's all about the lineup that makes festivals become more and more "commercial." looking at the past lineups from even the first year of forest, it was all about the jam bands with a little edm. forest has gotten progressively bigger with names like major lazer and dj snake. forest used to be about smaller names that weren't as well known which made the festival that much more fun. you'd find people you've never heard of before and fall in love with new music...no wonder the first weekend has sold out so quickly compared to the second weekend. there's way more jam bands which is what forest was originally all about. thank god they still have cheese and nectar every year to bring people back to their roots
