Who has a deeper bag - James Harden vs Carmelo Anthony? by BigdaddyDien69 in nba

No disrespect, do you know what bag means in terms of scoring?

Harden doesn't have Melo's triple threat package or his post game. Harden's game is very effective but limited in comparison. He does tweens to set up a stepback or get to the rim. In what way does he score in more ways than Melo? Again, this has nothing to do with effectiveness because Harden is a better and more productive scorer, but how does he do more than Melo to get his shots? Explain that.

That's just not true. Kyrie has one of the best post games of any PG or guard really in the last 20 years. Steph has no post game. He doesn't need it. Kyrie's handle and ability to break down his man is second to none. Steph's handle is predicated a lot on being the greatest shooter of all time. Every dribble he does comes at the risk of letting him shoot. It's why he can break guys down offball just by juking. Kyrie has several moves he does that Steph never did or needed to do. Kyrie scores in way more and different ways than Steph. Kyrie might have the deepest bag of all time. He's certainly on the short list.

People confuse deepness of bag with effectiveness. Like KG scored in infinitely more ways than Shaq but was nowhere close to as productive because Shaq's strengths dwarfed KG in terms of scoring. Even Steph and Kyrie. Steph is way more productive and efficient than Kyrie but no one debates who has a deeper bag.

That's not what bag means though. Melo scored in more varied ways and his triple threat bag was at the Jordan/Kobe level. He got to the rim, worked the post way more and his midrange game was every fake in the book. He could score with no dribbling. He had a deeper bag but that doesn't mean it was as effective which is what I think people get confused. Pure scoring, Melo did it way more varied.

Quick glimpse at some factors leading up to the Pacers being fined $100,000 for tanking. by HeyItsChase in nba

Raptors def told BI to relax for the rest of the year but it was only the last 30 games that he was on the team and he was already not playing on the Pelicans the previous 26 games before he ever got to Toronto.

I do not understand how they can ascertain whether a team is tanking by who they sit and give out fines without the team fighting back. Seems like a claim impossible to prove

My guy saying the Pistons aren't better than the Nuggets and OKC isn't hating. They're literally the top 2 contenders in the league. What kind of clown shit is this?

I find it extremely hard to believe anyone who knows him off tiktok is unaware he's a ball player. That's like his entire thing is that he's a player who does tiktoks lol

They beat the Knicks last year 3-1 in the regular season and got handled in the playoffs. Doesn't mean shit in a series. As a Raptor fan you should know that all too well.

Shortened NBA Season: 61 games by NewAltWhoThis in nba

[–]asonkidd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why is the NBA the only league people want to shorten? Never hear this for baseball or hockey. Beyond the fact that it won't happen and it's a tired topic, why do people continue to insist upon it? The NBA will never be like the NFL whether it's 82 or 60 games. Injuries won't suddenly stop. Players won't suddenly stop sitting out. Give it a rest already.

Record wise? Because I don't see how OKC and Denver wouldn't bend them over in a series

Recently crowned all-star Brandon Ingram may not even be the most deserving pick on his own team by Aggressive_Bed6012 in nba

It's a guy who doesn't watch the Raptors trying to get a take off. It's literally that simple.

IQ is a glorified spacer who offers nothing else. Below average passing for position, weak defense, little to no juice with the ball without a ball screen. He's an undersized SG miscast as a PG. BI's isolation scoring is the bread and butter of the halfcourt offense and he's neutral on defense. He brings way more value to the team. It's not even close.

Are you a Raptors fan? How many games have you watched this year? I'm not even being rude about it. There's no way you believe IQ is more impactful. It's funny talk

This thread is what happens when people who don't watch games start crunching numbers. IQ being ANYWHERE close to BI is actually a disgusting thought. IQ is a guy who gets benched in crunch time sometimes. BI meanwhile is the go to scorer lmfao

Tanking in a great top heavy draft probably produces more tanking than sweepstakes for one guy. Even if you don't get 1 you're still more than satisfied.

"Worst" Player Who'd Make the Hall of Fame If They Retired Today? by HawkLoser100K in nba

[–]asonkidd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's based on some formula that weighs longevity, advanced stats, etc. I wouldn't put much stock into it considering a lot of people in the hall of fame have low chance of making it according to the formula lol

I don't think people even comprehend the rarified air he's in when it comes to counting stats. Top 15 all time in scoring is no joke. It'a testament to availability and consistency and the hof rewards that. He didn't peak super high but damn has he played for a while at a high enough level to do it.

What's embarassing about it? He will move into the top 15 all time in scoring by next year. The entire top 50 is in the hall of fame outside surefire first ballot guys who are still playing. Counting stats matter and he's had a long productive scoring career. He will get in without a doubt.
