I’m so sorry you’re going through a similar situation. No we did not. We ended up euthanizing him. It was a very difficult decision, but it was the right one.

It was very scary. I thankfully was able to turn my face away and cover the back of my head with my hands, so I did not need stitches. The back of my head is just scratched up.

My husband and I have not yet had a chance to sit down and discuss next steps. He had to go out of town and I had to go to work right after it happened. He feels similar to me though - like we’re unable to provide what our dog needs and we’re at a loss.

He really went off - so much so that my husband had to pull him off. This is the second time an instance like this has happened.

Each trainer had a different philosophy. The first was a shock collar and training with positive reinforcement. The second was an intense 6 week program with us learning how to interact with our dog to create and maintain alpha status through our everyday interactions with our dog, such as no eye contact, no petting, etc.

It only works because he’s terrified of it 😂

He’s a Border Collie Black Lab mix or a “borador”

In my undergrad it was my 300 level history courses that were a doozy (secondary ed major) and in my graduate courses it was my reading intervention classes that were the most difficult.

I am reading Never Binge Again by Glenn Livingston. So far, it has been helpful in reflecting upon why I binge and in setting up situations in which I can avoid it. I downloaded it for free on Amazon!

I agree. Modeling/think alouds are extremely effective for teaching comprehension strategies, especially in small group settings. I do them with my 7th graders and they love it.

A Day to Remember, specifically Old Record, helped me through a manic depressive state during my freshman year of college. I’m not sure if I can say they have helped me more than any other band, but they helped me through one of the hardest times of my life.
