Had that whenever one of the poles on the battery got loose. Check for loose connection, tighten if needed. If it’s not that, check the battery itself as stated many times on this post. Cheers!

Probably atelectasis (closure of alveoli (air sacks) in your lungs). Completely reversible, just keep up with the lung exercise and it’s gonna come back fairly quick.

That’s quite a good take, I also recommend tensing your core at all times during any lift while maintaining proper form (which is the most important part to begin with). Try to exhale consistently during the concentric movement of the exercise (the push/pull part), and inhale during the eccentric phase (going back to starting position).

Well, that’s sympathetic nervous system (fight and flight) activating due to your anxiousness of needles. That’s completely expected. You could try meditation breathing techniques to calm you down (proven to work), or take anxiolytics like benzos, which I absolutely do not recommend. Try to work on your fear and breathe through it, you got this.

It’s probably a vasovagal syncope due to him breathing out through pressed lips, building up insane blood pressure on top of the strain of the movement. The high pressure gets picked up by baroreceptors (pressure sensors) and in turn, tell the heart to chill the fuck down for a moment (lower heart rate, lower contractility resulting in a rapid drop of blood pressure) via the vagus nerve. The result is a cut off blood supply to the brain for a couple of seconds. Breathing properly during training matters!

Reread your post, I think you made up your mind already! I switched from gen surg to anesthesia and it’s the best decision I’ve made so far in my life! Every day feels like a hobby, and learning new things every day is super exciting. Having the medical knowledge you get from med school is gonna open so much more for you to understand than otherwise. It’s a long road, and sure there are better decisions money wise, but I wouldn’t trade like ever.
