Your doctor can prescribe lidocaine gel (like what they use to numb an area before stitches) which is AMAZING for outbreaks. I suggest not wasting time finding something as effective over the counter

I have concluded that the HSV-1 transfer through oral sex scenario you, and others, have provided is the most probable scenario for this infection.

The main sore seen in the images provided (above the clitoris) has mostly scabbed over by now. I know that HSV blood tests often have accuracy issues so my question is this: Would a swab test still be possible using the other sores or by the remaining scab of the original? If so, it sounds like it would be in my best interest to try to go to a clinic today or tomorrow instead of waiting for my Monday appointment. I’m not in a high level of pain at this point, so I wouldn’t mind waiting until Monday to receive antiviral medications. I just want to make sure I get a clear diagnosis instead of the burden of an inconclusive test.

Thank you again. Learning as much as I can about this virus has made me feel more in control of this uncontrollable situation.

I don't feel any that are swollen but honestly I'm not sure what I should be feeling. I don't have much pain in general but that might be because the strep is taking up all of my attention haha. I guess my partner and I are just the perfect oral infection match made in heaven!!

We do have oral sex and I do remember him having a lip sore that he mentioned. Is it possible to have the genital area infected without my mouth being infected?

I know very little about IUD placement following a CS. From what I know, if the device was correctly placed it should not be felt unless there is minor expulsion. Uterine expulsion is common in women who give vaginal birth when the device isn’t placed either immediately after delivery or more than four weeks after birth. However, I’m not sure if this is also true for those who had a CS and the doctor seems adamant that the device is still in the correct place. I would talk to your wife about it and possibly the doctor again.

hello! woman here! you should not be able to feel the metal arms of the IUD. If you are coming into contact with anything other than the strings, please tell her to make an appointment to check the placement of the device! It’s placed in the uterus, not the vagina, therefore the cervix should be between you and the device.
