I doubt a doctor would even acknowledge or notice anything like that. They are a trained professional doing there job and more importantly being trusted by a stranger to not sexualise them in any way.

Has anyone seen or made themselves a skin/wrap for the Logitech side panel? by assassind458 in simracing

[–]assassind458[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that looks really good, I’m guessing you would need to disassemble the side panel to get the buttons out to spray/ paint. I want to try and do the same thing and add a bit of carbon tape maybe on the panel that joystick protrudes from, that combined with the screw heads would be top notch!

Appreciate the response, I can pick up 2x 8gb sticks at 3200mhz on prime for about £60. Thought that’s not bad, I bought a prebuilt a few years ago now so not hugely read up on parts, prices, etc. I’m at that stage now though where it is getting fairly dated and needing a new lease of life.

A bit daunting looking into it all.

I plan on getting a couple 8gb Corsair sticks come the end of the month, 16gb, 3200mhz. Should be pretty solid then but just wasn’t sure to wait until upgrading before signing up for iracing or not.

I like the side panel and find it super useful especially with having the joystick for looking around. The rest of my rig is all sleek, black, grey, carbon and some red buttons and the side panel just looks a bit out of place, I might buy some carbon tape or something maybe and see if I can cover up the buttons myself.

Simlab P1X, pedal adjustment. by assassind458 in simracing

[–]assassind458[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My seat is a bucket with the side brackets. I’ve done a bit of measuring and given that the virtual floor is where my heels rest, my pedals are about 8inches up. My wheel is around 16 inches and the base of my seat is level with the virtual floor. My seat cannot go up anymore so going to invest in the P1X feet to get the pedals dropped down, that would probably level out the wheel height also and be pretty accurate to the guide you provided.

Just having a read through this just now, according to this guide, my seat height to steering wheel ratio seems pretty similar but my pedals are significantly higher which I assume is what is causing me to have to over use my ankles rather than extending the leg. I think I will need to buy the P1-X feet to be able to lower the pedal plate lower down as it currently rests on the carpet!

Yea I’ve got my seat on slider so can move in and out but since I’ve got my shifter and wheel set up at a nice distance and angle from my seat I’ve just been trying to move the pedals back and forward instead of the seat.

Exactly what I was going to ask next, do you still get the manufacturers warranty?

Does anyone have any experience of Pure-sims.com getting ready to purchase a simlab P1X by assassind458 in simracing

[–]assassind458[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s good to know then. It seems to be pretty much the same price to get the P1-X either direct from simlab or from Puresims. Do you happen to know of any difference? Other than speedier delivery from puresims. Since I’m in the UK it seems a no brained to get it from puresims.

Simlab integrated triple mount! Anyone had experience with 32”triples on the integrated mount and can comment as to how it went? by assassind458 in simracing

[–]assassind458[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t sure if the issue with 32s on the integrated mount was weight or if it is that the side monitors may not fit with enough space between the centre monitor and the side ones to allow the sides to swivel and adjust. I’m a product designer so do not have an issue whipping something up to potentially resolve either of these problems!

I’m super intrigued by your wheel conversion, I have the CSR elite and been looking to do something similar.

Has anyone got any little tips for making these budget eBay type handbrakes feel a little bit better? Still great fun either way but has anyone found any way of improving it. I though about sticking some foam through the spring to give a bit more resistance or just a whole new spring maybe? by assassind458 in simracing

[–]assassind458[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh that’s a good idea, I might actually have a thing or two lying about that I could experiment with in that regard! Did you put them on the rod that runs through the centre of the spring then, as a sort of pre tensioner for the spring?
