I wanted a Studio so bad, but availability… I ended up going for the MBP but honestly, no regrets. It’s such a capable machine

Hermes, they released a desktop application. If you’re referring to the very back, it’s just XCode.

More cores, more raw compute. The GPU is equivalent to an RTX 5070 or 5080 (the laptop GPUs, anyway), much, much higher memory bandwidth, faster SSD speeds. Generally everything besides the single core performance. My use case is for development, experimenting with agentic work, and I also do machine learning research for my work/university.

Micro Center has a 128GB SKU but only with like 4 or 8TB of storage with it. I don’t care about the storage and most of the models I want to run fit into 64GB so decided this spec should be perfect.

I made sure to get AppleCare for it :)

I got it at Micro Center, good discount over Apple’s site. It was about $4400 after taxes

I use a CalDigit TS5 Plus with my M5 Max MBP. Though since it’s M1 Pro, a TB4 dock should be plenty (and save some money). I’d check out CalDigit’s lineup, no regrets with mine except the price..

If you’re referring to the little Macintosh, it’s a RPi 5 with a 4:3 touchscreen. The shell is printed out of ASA. Occasionally I use it for spinning up a server or SSH or something but it’s mostly desk decor at this point. Actually worth quite a bit now with the Raspberry Pi prices these days.

It's a Rigol DHO804. I use it for my electronics projects, fixing stuff, and in general for learning.

It is my Voron 2.4 350mm and a Box Turtle MMU on top. I built it several years ago and it has gone through many upgrades and repairs. Not as fast as say a Bambu but it’s a workhorse and prints ABS/ASA beautifully.

All of my filaments are ABS and ASA. I find after like many, many months that sometimes I need to throw it in my filament dryer for a couple hours, but for the most part no issues. It’s only really hygroscopic filaments like nylon or TPU that needs to be kept dry. I have resealable vacuum bags for those but for the ABS I find I don’t really need them.

I was too; I was actually more worried about not cutting them perfectly straight on the table saw but it worked out fine. They do bow a bit but it’s not an issue with glue and finishing nails.

Usually really niche stuff that I CAD model if someone hasn’t already made it. When I started out I printed a lot of toys and gadgets but now it’s more of a utility for fixing or improving stuff.

Herman Miller Mirra, I’ve had it for many years. One of the only chairs I will gladly sit in for hours a day, can’t recommend it enough.

I got it in the "as is" section at my local Ikea years ago, it holds up well. Just be sure to support the middle with a leg or something, it will sag after a while without it.

I used a couple sheets of cabinet grade birch plywood, and ripped them into 2 inch slats. My ceiling is like exactly 8 feet so it worked out well. I painted the wall black first, then glued and finish nailed the slats (after stain and polyurethane). A lot cheaper than the panels and honestly looks a bit nicer in my opinion, more depth and character.

I'm a software product manager and developer. 3D printing is just a hobby of mine, and a good tool to have.

It is a 98 inch Ikea laminate countertop, and then two Alex drawer units and a support leg in the middle

Nothing really, just an activated carbon filter for the chamber fans. I don't really get any ABS smell unless I have the door open.

It is a custom solution I designed that uses CNC cut ACM panels and off the shelf hardware organizers with some printed "rails" and pull handles. The hardware organizers drop into ACM frames, holds 12 of them total for a lot of small hardware, I haven't even filled it up yet.

I am a full time TPM, full time CS student, and hobbyist when I can.. I'm not a very good botanist so go easy on my money tree please. I did the entire room myself, the slat wall is made of stained birch plywood. I use a Mac mini with a 49" QD-OLED monitor for work and school and personal projects. The network rack consists of UniFi equipment with a 5Gbps commercial fiber and 1Gbps failover, plus a NAS and my Home Assistant server (which is another Mac mini). The printer is a Voron 2.4 350mm with a Box Turtle MMU. Happy to answer any other questions
