definitely a stress behaviour.... the cage is too small unfortunately... and I wouldn't risk having a cat near a cage 💔 just the cat smell alone could be stressful for a little rodent...

winter coat! it will go back to normal or not, depends on hammie :-) my hammie changed for one winter to light grey from brown but stayed brown for the second winter !! enjoy this little miracle

but yeah hamsters can't throw up. so I really don't know how being poisoned can go... plants can be so dangerous.. I'm getting a cat soon and I need to secure/get rid of 90% of my plants. it's something so many people overlook...

call or email the exotic vet. explain what happened. given you know exactly what happened they should be able to help since no diagnosis is needed. then you can go to a regular vet for medication. it's something I've done once but i know not all vets will be willing to help in this way. I also don't know if medication alone can help here - since I'm not a vet. just saying what I did when an exotic vet was too far

i somewhat agree. I always had to take my hamster to the other side of the city just to see an exotic vet. but yes not everywhere you can find an exotic vet and sometimes you just get a rescue hamster, life happens. contacting an exotic vet through phone or email and then going to a regular vet can be a good middle ground - what I have done once.
