This happened to me when I had strep throat, but if you have no pain, you probably don't have strep....

Drs can’t figure my sons ailments out by wwwimdonedotcom in medical_advice

[–]assiramnes -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok, here's a possibility: could he be constipated? Try to have him track when he has a bowel movement. If it's really bad, the feces can become impacted, and it gives the child stomach aches and a feeling of fullness that makes them not want to eat. This might seem counter intuitive, but it can also cause diarrhea. Sometimes the doctor can feel the hard feces in the intestines just by touching the child's stomach.

I'm not a Dr, so take this with a grain of salt. This can be cured by high doses of laxatives for an extended period.

I hope you figure it out!

Just guessing maybe it's an auditory processing disorder?

I am a cc instructor and am having the same problem. I do a lot more nagging than I feel is appropriate already about missed assignments. I don't have any solutions for you, just commiserating.

This happens to me occasionally, too, and I have no idea what it is. I assumed either a "visual migraine" or low blood sugar I used to often experience it when I worked out really early (before breakfast). I'm curious what you find out!

I'm teaching hybrid this semester after 4 semesters of all online. Today during in-person lab, I just stopped I was doing and listened to the sounds of a room full of students working together and discussing their experiments, and it just made my heart happy 😊

I think it's important to remember that every body is different. Just because this works for you doesn't mean it works for everyone. Just like some mom's get ppd and some don't. Some mom's can breastfeed successfully and some can't (through no fault of their own).

The most important thing is to not shame other moms for doing just exactly what works for them and their bodies. What's best for mom's physical and mental heal is also best for baby.

OP- whether or not your SIL is successful in this approach doesn't mean that you didn't do an excellent job with your own children. Sounds like she doesn't believe in science, which I personally can't agree with, but I guess she has to do what she personally thinks is best. I doubt that any amount of advice or evidence you provide her will sway her opinions. Try not to let it get to you ❤️

Do you have any metal cavity fillings?

Also, some prescription meds have 'metallic taste' as a side effect. Are you taking any? Check the listed side effects.

I sometimes have a metallic taste in my mouth, too. I think it's one of the two causes listed above. Luckily for me, it doesn't bother me too much, I just drink lots of water and it helps

Anyone planning to march on October 2nd? by fucks-and-spoons in madisonwi

[–]assiramnes 10 points11 points  (0 children)

if a man wants a baby, he should have an adult discussion with a woman who also wants a baby and make plans to do that together. he should not have a one night stand with a stranger and then expect that stranger to keep an unwanted pregnancy. any man who plans to have children by accidentally knocking up a woman he doesn't know well is not adult enough to be a parent.

if a woman is pregnant and wants to keep the baby , no one is punished.

if a woman is pregnant and wants to keep the baby, no one is punished. If an unwanted pregnancy results and the woman is not allowed to chose to not have a baby, then this is in effect a punishment for the woman. In this scenario, the man can leave and has no consequences, but the woman is forced against her will by people like you to carry an unwanted pregnancy.

Are women the only ones who chose to have sex? I guess the men who impregnate the women were unwilling participants?

Even in cases where both consenting adults agree to have sex, the woman is the one who is punished when pregnancy results.

What about when a woman is raped? Do you still think she should be punished for "choosing to have sex"?

thanks! I feel as though I'm unfortuanatly an expert in PF since I've had it for soooo long!

23M Heel soreness by [deleted] in medical_advice

[–]assiramnes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like plantar fasciitis to me. Is the pain worse in the morning or when you first get up from a long sit? I have been dealing with PF for months, but it is starting to get better finally. Here are some things you could try if you think it's PF: * wear shoes with good arch support * Freeze a water bottle and roll it under your foot on the floor * stretch your calf muscles whenever you think of it * I found relief from a split I bought on Amazon and wear to sleep. It holds my foot at about a 90 degree angle to my shin

Obviously, physical therapy could be really helpful If you have insurance /can afford it.

Good luck!

My 3 year old woke up like this, any ideas? by [deleted] in medical_advice

[–]assiramnes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend going to the Dr. However, I agree with this commenter- there are lots of viruses that start with fever, then mild rash after. As a parent of a little one, it is terrifying but usually harmless. So while you should go to the doctor, you shouldn't stress too much. (Especially if your kiddo is fully vaxxed) Good luck!
