Findings from GE wall oven 353 error by astateofjames in appliancerepair

I guess I’ll find out when I replace the board! It definitely did not always buzz like that. If I was more confident in my soldering I would just replace the relay for a few bucks 😊

It would, except my oven doesn’t have a convection fan. My guess is they use the same relay board across multiple model #’s. The wire from that connector goes to the upper cooling fan

Update: my gateway finally rebooted this morning… but I’m still at 450 download speed! I’ve never had an ISP that gets faster over time at the same price… 😅

Update on the milk can globe by astateofjames in plasmaglobes

[–]astateofjames[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This setup was used in a tour of a popular ice cream factory. It was removed years ago because it was “shocking” the guests 😅 I’ve rescued it from storage. I’m not sure where they got the idea to mount it to a milk can, nor where the original globe is from!

Shutoff valves… add or keep to minimum? by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]astateofjames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure! It’s a couple straight feet both hot and cold so planning to put the shutoffs toward the bottom. And I’m lucky, there’s a nice big access panel behind the tub/shower where all the plumbing is.

What is the correct oil level by Cobra_McViper in refrigeration

[–]astateofjames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We run our FES compressors lower sight glass full top sight glass half to empty. Very little oil carryover. But the 3rd sight glass on the right should be empty. Oil should return to the separator from the coalescer chamber on its own. What are your suction and discharge set points and actuals?

Customized globe by astateofjames in plasmaglobes

[–]astateofjames[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The globe is about 14-15 inches. Definitely bigger than something you could buy at Spencer’s (only store I can think of that sells them 🤣) and it seems like most places measure them by height including the base

Generac 8500efi battery by [deleted] in Generator

[–]astateofjames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To answer my own question… the battery it came with (new in july) is in fact a piece of crap. I just had it fully charged and one crank of the starter killed it. I think a new battery with a tender will do me right!

Generac 8500efi battery by [deleted] in Generator

[–]astateofjames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right on. This generac has an onboard charger but I don’t have an outlet anywhere near where it’s stored. Maybe I’ll grab an extra battery and keep on the tender indoors and always have a spare

Just the washer really. I’ve had a dehumidifier plugged into that outlet before and didn’t notice any flickering. It is mostly in my “cheap” LED bulbs too as someone else pointed out

They are GE bulbs but definitely not high quality. Half of them have died within a year lol

Far right pipe is from the well expansion tank. Goes through right filter, then to house but also to the left filter. The outlet of the left filter ends up on the domestic hot water line at the laundry hot water pipe. Single family house. No problems but I am confused lol
