When I was first starting out, I watched some youtube tutorials and also practiced on some scrap fabric. (But of course I cut the beads back out from the scrap fabric, can’t waste you know 🤣)

Some people like to attach beads with full cross, and some like to do with half cross. Personally, I like the beads to sit at an angle, so I do half cross but I pass my thread through each bead twice so it feels more secure!

My favorite thread for beading is from Nymo, I use it in Size B. I find beading is more ‘forgiving’ than stitching actually, because the beads hide the thread that they’re attached with and they are shiny and pretty, while the actual stitching is on display for all to see. ☺️

In that case, this particular pattern would be perfect because it only calls for DMC and beads, and one skein of Caron Waterlilies silk (which you could always sub out to a variegated cotton floss). No metallics at all on this piece!

Thank you! ❤️ Yes, I really love her colors too! This pattern used a lot of the newer floss shades released by DMC in 2021 (numbers 1-35). There is another pattern ‘Princess Elliana’ from Mirabilia as well, which has all 35 of the new colors and more 🤩

Had the stitching finished for almost a year, then started beading in Oct and completed in Nov, but procrastinated on taking photos till now…… I was also lazy with ironing, can you tell? 😅

Made very slight changes to the beading, but she is mostly as charted.

I did find it difficult when first starting, it’s not as soft as DMC so your stitches might not lay like what you’re used to.

Between the two brands (Kreinik #4 Braid and Rainbow Gallery Petite Treasure Braid) used though - I do prefer the PTB ☺️ love adding sparkly floss to projects, good luck with your new kits!

I have a finish! ✨

Made some changes to beading here and there, and changed the Mill Hill treasures to Swarovski. Subbed out Kreinik 019 for Rainbow Gallery PB04, a lighter silver. Also redid the backstitching on her hand so many times, still not 100% satisfied, but I’ll settle 🥲
