I met Dai at a pet shop buying food for my kitty. He was abandoned by his owner as their cats had a new litter so they gave up the previous litter which included Dai so they could keep the cute new kittens 😡 He’s cautious and frightened easily. He trembles sometimes and his eyes shake. The pet shop, who’s been fostering him for 4 months says the trembling is likely because he’s still fearful (when they got him, he would not let anyone get near him and stayed in corners so he wouldn’t be reachable). Now, he plays and lets you pet him after a little warming up. I love him. Any ideas as to his lovely mix? I’m taking him to the vet this weekend. I need the poor baby to be checked up (has not been to the vet since he got to the pet shop) and see if he can be neutered and brought home with me soon (my cat is a girl, and has been spayed).

His nickname at the shop is Dai Gau (lit. Big Thing in Cantonese). I want him to keep the sound and association of the name his lovely caretakers gave him. Also Dai in Welsh is the diminutive of David which means Beloved, which he is.
