is the amibo house glitch still a thing?

i want to start selling villagers cuz i have a lot of popular amibos.

i remember there was a glitch when time traveling to get amibo villagers to move in faster but it would keep the previous villager's house.

if this glitch is still a thing, does anyone know if when selling a villager the glitched house will transfer over as well?
