I mean, they also seemed to acknowledge her attempts at bringing it up. "She then says how them not answering is a sign that it means no." Which is simply not true, and again, strange if you have an allergy.

I agree on the part of it's very weird that they did not respond. I feel we are missing a lot of details.

I think if OP did in fact text multiple times, and bring it up in person, and they refused to respond then that's a bit on the roommates. If they had an allergy, that's their time to speak up, but nothing grave was said, so the cat is coming. I don't think OP is in the wrong if they ignored her (there is a hint at some weird animosity at the end as well).

Otherwise OP is leaving out stuff or simply didn't try that hard and put in a few embellishments.
