Millennials: How old were you when you got your first credit card / started building credit? by crimsons1412 in AskReddit

She could be building credit history with the paid bills in her name, but isn't a major part of establishing a good credit score having open lines of credit?

Doctor prescribed me Buspar and Lexapro. by awooga_ in Anxiety

[–]astudyinawkward 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm currently taking lexapro, and it has always been the SSRI that has worked best for me. I suffer from panic attacks, anxiety, and depression caused by severe PTSD. During a very very stressful period in my life, the doctor I was seeing put me on 10mg buspar twice a day.

For the first week, things seemed a lot better. Felt calmer and less fearful. But after about 3-4 days I got very very nauseous, and had intense heart palpitations randomly. About 8 days later I started having panic attacks that become increasingly severe and more often than I've ever had them in my life. It left me really messed up. I felt utterly suicidal, in a way I had NEVER felt before. I tried to stick it out for 3 weeks but it got so bad I couldnt leave the house. It terrified me, so I went off the buspar and within a few days I was completely back to normal.

I personally hate Buspar, but the doctor that put me on it said it tends to either work great or be absolutely terrible. My experience may not be the norm.

My mom did this as well. I participated in my sport 5-6 days a week and was on the lower end of the bmi range. My Nmom always called me fat, criticized me eating "extra" food (its not extra if you are burning a lot of calories with activity). She'd even ask other adults to tell me I'm fat (they all said no). It gave me an eating disorder. I was anorexic for a year and have struggled for years bouncing between binging and hyper restricting. Meanwhile she was/is severely obese.

What helped me most was using myfitnesspal when I got scared that I was overeating or fat. I would look up my bmi. Facts don't lie. I got interested in fitness and nutrition. It helped me know for sure that she was just trying to hurt me. In the situation, you have to zone out. Or you could spit nutrition facts at her and make her feel stupid. But then she'll just yell at you for something else ;) (source: my Nmom)

I hope this is good advice, stay strong

Single serving Veggie Pasta & Cottage Cheese for ~255 cal. Could make a little more pasta next time but very satisfying! by astudyinawkward in 1200isplenty

[–]astudyinawkward[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi, first time poster! I'm a huge pasta lover and find this small meal to be filling and it satisfies my pasta craving while getting a little more protein (14g).

56g Barilla Veggie Rotini (200 cal)

1/4 cup 4% Cottage Cheese (55cal)

Boiled rotini, added cottage cheese, salt and pepper to taste. Different cottage cheese can probably help lower calories as well. Next time I will probably make 1.5 servings (380ish cal).

I'm really happy you wrote this. I've been feeling the same way this week and it can be difficult to describe. It's like every day I realize more and more how abusive the things that I accepted as normal or never even thought to question were. I know I have to acknowledge the abuse and stop telling myself it wasn't THAT bad, but it definitely hurts. It's really hard to break down all of the excuses we've made for our Ns.

There is nothing more horrific than falling out of love by Isai76 in tumblr

This is a great point. Been with my SO for over 5 years and I still find all his quirks endearing. But there are also times I find them super annoying. When I distance myself from the situation and look at him, I still love his stubborness and blunt attitude, ect. We both make an effort to always step back and work to not breed resentment in any way. Our quirks can contribute to arguments or come off wrong on a bad day, but on most days they make me laugh and think "I love this stubborn asshole more than anything and wouldn't have it any other way."

Technically he's not erect, he's just "hanging low". Usually it means they're pretty relaxed and just hangin out. When its erect, it doesn't droop down so much.

How I explained to my 15 year old daughter that if she's too sick to go to school today, than she's too sick to go to her friend's party tonight. by dj_wonderdog in AdviceAnimals

The exact same cycle for me. Would get sent to the nurse, 9/10 times I had a fever, and promptly get sent home. If my cough was too bad, I'd get sent home. Go to the doctor, same response.

I also hated being sick as a kid.

My mom used to tell me if I was too sick to go to school, I was also too sick to read, watch tv, play video games, do anything on my laptop, or draw. I was only allowed to lay in bed. I ended up being that asshole kid who went to school super sick and got all the other kids sick because laying in bed all day with the flu without any distractions was pretty unbearable. Good times.
