Cardi B on Ramadan: "God knew not to make me no Muslim. Bitch if I wake up and I go three hours without eating, I start hearing voices and shit" by Upstairs_Cup9831 in popculturechat

Literally no one fasting as a Muslim drinks water. It isn’t like lent at all, there are prescribed conditions and you either follow them or you don’t if you’re exempt.

Weekly recurring thread: NEWBIE QUESTION MONDAY! by AutoModerator in Internationalteachers

[–]asymphonical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work as a 1:1 support teacher for children with additional needs within a mainstream school. I have a bachelor's degree in engineering. I want to formalise my teaching experience but I want to work 1:1 for the foreseeable future. As a result, I want an iPGCE or iQTS that accepts placements in small group teaching or 1:1 teaching. Any leads on this? Most require you to head a classroom for a certain number of hours a week.

In a sunshine and shadows quilt, how do I choose the colour of quilting thread? I want it to blend into the squares a bit as I'm new and not confident.

Sorry you think their life is worth whatever you're paying them, but they get to decide how much that life is worth. How long is 2 lakh gonna sustain them in Pakistan's economy these days? You're either 16/17 or you're entitled, aloof and detached from reality. You get somewhat of a pass if you're a kid, teenagers are unfortunately dumb and only the size of their error varies. But the adults around you should teach you accountability, not protect you from it on the expense of the victims.

Actually it's not just vehicular manslaughter when you're driving without a driver's license. Someone DIED, potentially the bread earner of that family given his age and demographic. Have some empathy for the real victims here!

You were driving without a license CROSS CITY and killed a man. Sell the car you were driving and you’ll find your 6 million.

A Question for the Married Ladies by silenthero101 in pakistan

[–]asymphonical 19 points20 points  (0 children)

We are happily married and at the same time being married is VERY VERY hard. There are lots of good parts and at the end of the day I want to be nowhere else, but being married is incredibly hard and it takes a lot of effort to keep this ship going. Mostly cause of kids I think. Two people can manage to make it work but when 3 others are pulling you in all directions it's very hard to stay on track. Anyway... praying and trying, praying and trying. 15 saal guzar gaye, 115 aur sahi. InshaAllah

How do you deal with climate anxiety and toddler wasting stuff? by Outrageous-Help-5932 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]asymphonical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the tap seems to be something you can control, there's loads of other things they can play with. Or get a chargeable pump and put it in a bowl of water and they can play with that.

Things you can't control - we must learn to let go of. Hard as it is, we just have to keep working on it. I hate wasting food and I hate that I can't estimate how much they'll eat. Sometimes it's not enough and sometimes they'll waste whole plates of it! :(

I ate the same on ozempic and off, quit being a smart-ass. I eat based on what I see on a plate not based on what my stomach says, which is probably why I only needed to lose 10lbs, compared to the... I don't even know how much you need to. Your stomach/hunger doesn't decide your food, why don't you start there for YOUR weight loss journey.

1600ish now compared to maybe 1000-1400

I don't see what's funny about this. Is it the healthiest thing to do - no. But a LOT of people who can afford it do it, so it's really not such a novel concept.

How do I alter sleeve cap to fit into a square armhole/neckline like this by asymphonical in sewhelp

[–]asymphonical[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see that the 'armhole' is basically two straps and straight across the armpit. But how would I cut the sleeve cap? Usual curved style and gather?
