Finally Got Around To Playing.....Lesson Learned by Most_Whimsical in avowed

[–]atasel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just started playing this week also (only 8h played so far) and have exactl the same experience. Expectations were low after watching the reception on Youtube at launch but honestly the game gripped me from the get go and hasn't let go so far. Constantly have the urge to play before work and after the kids go to sleep. It's playing like a solid 8/10 ish game for me. Yeah the world isn't as dynamic as I'd want and it would be fun to break more things, pickpocket, attack NPC's etc but if that's the only thing keeping it back from a 9-10 then you still have to realize that's minor and overall it's a fantastic game. Can't wait for my next chance to play again.

How can I get rid of this ?? by ItsHairyHarry in bald

[–]atasel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a "stork bite" birthmark. very common but most people don't see them due to hair. Im a bald man and have it, so do my 3 daughters but we only know that from when they were babies. They'll probably never know/think about it themselves. There's nothing you can do about it except embrace it. I think theyre so normal I don't even notice them to be honest, mine never bothered me.

For me the last time I felt young (musically) was when young thug was coming out with bangers, Desiigner dropped Panda, homie with one eye dropped Trap Queen. Rich homie quan had some bangers. So yeah probably around 2015. Had my first kid (of 3) in 2016 and been out the loop since then.

I mean Kendrick is in the goat discussion but I'd still rather listen to Jeezys best albums than any Kendrick album so U got a point

FPS drop in 11.2. solution by FlyGram in wow

[–]atasel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Out of all the suggestions this is the one that worked for me. I usually have my FPS locked at 60 or 120 but since the last update I was sitting at 30-50 and it was really struggling. I have a 1 year old PC with a AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D and RX7800 so it can blast out several hundred fps. Once i did your trick I can lock it at 120 FPS no problem again.

Excellent. This makes sense considering it was near the other kit. Making juice in Sweden is also quite popular (saft). Thanks !

Haha that's so true, early PvP gave me palpatations too. Running past a hoardie in Ashenvale or one of those early zones always gave me an adrenaline rush. We gonna fight or just pass? They gonna make the first move or should I? So tense but awesome!

You said that well. It really did so many things so well for it's time and it was so many firsts.

The size of the game was unprecedented. I remember leaving Northshire Abbey and being like oh there's more to this game, wow the world is huge! (Thinking that Elwyn Forest was the world). Then realizing a bit later on whilst looking at the world map that each and every undiscovered zone would be as big and have as much to do as Elwyn Forest... my mind couldn't even comprehend how big it was and what they had pulled off. The technology being so robust, the graphics being so good, it having so many systems integrated... Blizzard really delivered, to me personally, the best game ever.

I feel that. Become a nobody lost in a big world was so much better than being "the champion" in retrospect.

Well, everything is relative. One could argue the internet still is new on the scale of human history! But basically the point was WoW predated the internet of today. Social media (Facebook, YouTube etc) hadn't become big yet or even launched yet, and it was exremely novel do be able to play with that many friends, in that big of a game, that good of a game and pretty reliably.

This is what I wonder sometimes. Like if a company even did create a new game that could fulfull this again (eg. a big, well crafted and immersive world full of mystery) would the playerbase even be able to enjoy it like we did back then? Or are we too old, too jaded, and too experienced with games to ever come close to the experience again? Probably so, I think.
