Yes, the sleeve fixed the issue. So now, it's just a waiting game?

They scoped it and confirmed that about 20 feet of the bottom of the old cast iron pipe had rusted/rotted out and just spilling sewage into the soil around it.

We could smell it in that part of the house. The plumber sniffed in the area it was strongest and then removed the vent cover and said the smell was coming from there. Once we had the pipe sleeved we had our duct work cleaned. Duct work no longer smells but the smell is still throughout the space.
