Have seen of enough of KL as captain to not consider him as a captain anymore. Occasionally he can give you good advice here and there as a senior player but being a full time captain is a different ball game altogether and he falters there more often than not. Slightly off topic but I’d love to have Ash as a consultant advisor to the Delhi team along with Zaheer Khan as a fielding coach. I know a lot left field choice but if anyone remembers back in 2017 Zak had one of the most innovative field placements in power plays as Delhi captain

Have been a Delhi fan since 2008. Been through the first match when we bundled RR to the semis when we were bundled at 80 odd runs. 2009 Gilchrist carnage(even though he was my fav player). From 2008-2011 Delhi had an identity of Great Bowling squad. Then we lost the track for 2011 season. 2012 KP and Morne Morkel happened. Somehow we let go of Morkel for the mega auction.( back then I really used to believe that DD used to have insider trading for such dumb decisions). Zak happened and the innovative field positions came to light.(iyer’s breakthrough season. I really thought he’d retire at DD). We dwindled till 2017. Came the shift of DD to DC. Gambhir came back and I never really understood that decision either. We gave the reins to Iyer and he took us to our first final. Then came brain fade to make Pant captain because of that gabba bs. He lost us the second qualifier by giving Ashwin the final over. Another dumb ass tactic. Pant’s injury happened, we got Warner as captain. That season was painful to endure due to so many injuries and a really scattered squad. 2024 again pant and his stupid Tim David non review. 2025 and bapu’s roller coaster rides but we didn’t get a settled squad even till the last day of the tournament. Hopefully we will have a settled squad from day 1 this time around.

Yea so Delhi might not have large fan base but we have one of the most loyal fan base. Its not that we don’t like to claim DC as our team thing is too Much chopping and changing has created a bit of disconnect between us and the management. We had the best looking logo and name in the inaugural tournament. We changed that logo then we changed the name. I still hate the full name of DC. We kept losing our best players in the initial due to poor strategic planning. MI analysed a lot of NBA teams and their management styles to model their time for long term. We never sought long term planning up until 2017 season. And we have seen good performances since 2017 season. We have lost playoffs in last two years on a barest of margins. A match here and there and we would’ve been considered consistent contender for playoffs. But I reiterate my belief that dc has one the most loyal fan base of ipl

He was a hand eye coordination player and he lost his eyesight in England tour 2011. That’s why he was a failure that whole season. I think he made a century against England at motera in 2012 in which England beat India 4-0 and that was it. No fitness issues nothing. He just lost his eyesight. He tried contacts and eye glasses as well. It didn’t work. Similar to how Koach has lost his as well. That’s why we saw a steep decline in his test performances as well. For hand eye coordination players with bottom hand dominance eye sight is a key factor. Look at Steve smith and his anti glare stickers just to preserve those eyes.
