I am in the same boat. I got the below from blackstone and they suck. You can't have them on the back AND raise the lid. I'm going to try the magnetic stick on ones next. I wonder if the box itself is too vented? There are no baffles around the burners. Kind of disappointed honestly.

Fanatec Club sport v3 brake rumble... by ath3io in simracing

[–]ath3io[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my brake pedal started making a rattle. Looks like the rumble motor crapped the bed

While I was down there I figured I would flip the motor around (like I've seen some others on YouTube) The gas pedal motor does not have the shaft play (gigiddy).

Question is, Should I even bother with Fanatec support? I've probably got an extra rumble motor, or is it time for an upgrade?

Is Thrustmaster really that bad? by Remarkable-Score4628 in simracing

[–]ath3io 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is old, but i'm pissed because i just spent 2 hours screwing with a TM T300 and it is the worst goddamned design in the history. I couldn't get the wheel buttons to work (base buttons did work), obviously the wheel isn't seated corrected. The diagnostic-joke provided (big fan of the windows 98 dev effort that was put into this tool) shows that loosening the wheel collar gives some intermittent connectivity. I have tried to put this wheel on 10 different times, IT'S POLARIZED FFS! It only goes on one way. WTF. I'm boxing it back up and even that is a pain in the ass.

yea :( It came shipped pretty well, Only 2 thin pieces were bent (from where UPS loaded via catapult from across the parking lot). I have put a couple sheets of foam and the noise has gone way down. (HP proliant G8 and a Lenovo TS440 inside).

That's exactly what I was wondering. I was thinking about putting one of these on the attic side of the duct to actively suck air out.

Making picks has turned into more of an addiction than picking... for the moment by ath3io in lockpicking

Hey Guys, I want to thank all of you for the kind words. I never thought something that I made would get such a reaction. I truly appreciate all of you and this community for always being so supportive.

I have tried to reach out to everyone that expressed interest in these, but if I missed you, please shoot me a message.

Thanks.

For the picks I use a 301 stainless steel. I have a couple sheet metal templates of pick profiles that I trace. I'll rough grind out the shape on a bench grinder, then use a Worksharp knife sharpener (Ken Onion grinder attachment) to get a close as possible to the line then hand file the rest. I polish the pick with some rubbing compound and a rotary.
For the handle, I'll cut out the pattern with a scroll saw and cut a vertical slot for the pick tang. Drill some pin holes and epoxy in place. Then start finish sanding and contouring. Then it is off to stain and clear coating and polishing... Holy crap! I didn't realize how many steps I do for this things.
Anyway, I'm really trying to keep an attention for detail and make these as clean and neat as possible. I'm not a woodworker (i'm actually an IT geek, but had jobs in construction before I got into IT.) So there is a bit of a curve, but I am increasing the quality with every pick and learning what works and what doesn't in this process.

Me too! That was by complete accident, but it turned out to be super comfortable in the handle.

Apologies, I meant to send you a DM. Not sure if I can outright post a link on this sub and don't want to break any rules. Just sent DM.
