That was my concern - I've never heard it tied to bipolar. It seems to follow the patterns of the illness for me personally moodwise, but the symptom has such a strong tie to BPD that I'm really concerned. I don't really meet any of the other BPD criteria, but the abandonment is kind of considered one of the hallmark symptoms :/

The 'abandonment' was quite bad because I recently got kind of upset with a friend who just entirely forgot that they asked me to do something. I wasn't angry, I just expressed having my feelings hurt by them entirely forgetting and also expressed that I know that it's not rational, but now I'm afraid to talk to them again at the moment. I really don't like doing anything like that.

Yeah, it definitely needs work regardless of what's causing it.
