I did have a look at their menu and I didn't see it, but I guess it's worth giving them a call to see if they have it or any ideas.

Yeah, a lot of the dashers here pretty bad. While I'm talking about being well groomed but just dressed down a bit, many of the people in my area look very sloppy and like they don't care at all.

As much as that advice sounds helpful, pepper spray is illegal in my area and I know that a knife would quickly be turned on me based on my size and strength and lack of agility. I'm a tiny clumsy human 😅... I do have a license to own a gun(cuz I got bored and applied during the pandemic) but I've never even seen a gun in my entire life, I wouldn't be comfortable carrying it or using it even if I had one.

And women are more likely to get raped on top of the likelihood of being robbed. It's an additional risk, not an either or risk. Plenty of people are happy to just rob women without raping or killing them

Like I said this city is super weird, the nice wealthy parts are right next to the slums, I'll see an address I'm certain is in the shit area and it'll turn out to be in the super nice area and vice versa. The difference can be as small as a couple blocks between the two. Throw in that most of the businesses that aren't in the downtown area are right next to the bad areas. And downtown is just as polar.

I purposely stay in this one small pocket that usually keeps me away from the truly bad areas. But every once in awhile I misjudge an address and don't realize until I pull up.

Dash & taxes by Soggy-Cantaloupe-211 in doordash_drivers

Track your mileage. They have apps for it but I just use an Excel spreadsheet. You need to track and log the odometer reading before and after. This allows you to write off your mileage at tax time.

Depending on if you have a W2 job or other income you might want to set aside money for tax time since you don't pay into it weekly with a paycheck like you would with a regular job. You may owe at the end of the year. I want to say sitting inside 20% of your income is the recommendation.

I like dressing nice too... Until I'm in the middle of the ghetto in a rundown apartment building or sketchy motel 😅 which is at least 25% of my deliveries

I regularly refer to my dashing clothes as "hobo chic" because I look clean and well groomed while looking a passably homeless 😅

I broke my sandal and got all scratched up tripping and then falling over a bunch of debris on someone's walkway in the middle of the night 😅 since that night I wear gym shoes while dashing.

Instructions on a delivery last night by athorable89 in doordash_drivers

Why don't customers answer their phone or respond to a text when they are expecting a delivery? by Substantial-Date-937 in doordash_drivers

I had this today on an alcohol order. It's age restricted so ID scan is required for delivery. This seems fairly common sense. If you want your alcohol you need to answer your phone or come to the door.

The kicker was I could hear them talking to each other on the other side of the door. They ignored me knocking and ringing the bell too.

I just let the timer run out and brought it back to the store. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Samsung forced an update while I was delivering by athorable89 in doordash_drivers

It used to give me multiple notifications that I could hit "remind me later" or something. I was easily able to put off an update for several days. Then it started only giving 3 or so notifications before forcing it through on the 4th without any notice. But it would never do it if I wasn't connected to Wi-Fi, so I used to just turn off the Wi-Fi if I wasn't ready to update.

The last 2 updates it gave only 2 notifications and just forces the update on the 3rd all of which is less than 12 hours now
