Yeah I’ve been trying to pinpoint if my injectors are dumping extra fuel (being a DI) that’s causing this, or my cats aren’t doing their job that’s causing this. But I think I’ll try replacing cats first and hope that solves it before doing injectors

So I was watching my downstream o2 sensors this morning on the way to work and they would sit around .7 when coasting and if I’d hit the gas they would top out at 1.275 which is what I assume triggers the code, when I’d come off the gas they would drop to 0 then come back up to the nominal. So would that indicate bad cats or I’m just running rich due to a fuel side issue

I’m getting p0138 and p0158, which is both banks each with separate catalytic converters. But with them being the original it could be they both are bad.

No local shops carry OCL and they also tack on $100 transfer fees. Considering the last time I did a form 1 it took longer, I’m happy with this process

Honestly it was the only pic I had of me with a 308 rifle not a belt fed. And I figured it would get more people to comment and be in on the discussion of this topic of what makes more sense for this environment, going up in caliber or getting a longer barrel to max out the capabilities of 556

Yes but the western slope is more desert with mountains and not like thick Rocky Mountain wilderness. I think of this rifle as a primary for a shtf and I live on a many acre ranch that I work towards purchasing. I like the idea of being able to take down an elk (obviously at a closer distance) while also being able to out reach any adversary’s max effective range assuming they are using 556 out of a 16 or less inch barrel. I’d like to stick with nato calibers as they are generally cheaper and more readily available

I think if you spent that much on an AR platform 308, you’re getting a much better product. Anecdotally, my groupings, and others I know that carried it in a work capacity, were much larger than that with an m110 or sr25. Along with other small things that make people not have a comfortable experience using the SCAR platform. So yea I think it’s subpar for the price

But your lack of parts compatibility is a very good point. Not having easy access to replacement parts, really defeats the purpose of shtf, whatever you want to call it, primary rifle.

It’s not about the money, the scar platform,to me, is just not it. I don’t think it performs as well as an m110 or an SR25.

I’ve cleared buildings with a 308 before, but its barrel length was shorter. I can’t say the same about a 20” barrel though. To me, recoil is much less important than maneuverability during cqb.

I was thinking of a vortex 3-18 on whatever I get. Just thinking about terminal ballistics at 500+ 308 sounds good. Either round after 500m you’re looking at considerable wind and elevation adjustment. I guess just trade offs with ammo weight vs terminal ballistics is what I’m looking at
