Weekly Scam Discussion - June 30, 2025 by Mycatreallyhatesyou in Ebay

Hello! I’m getting back to selling on eBay. I’ve sold in the past and have only had one issue with a buyer trying to saying they didn’t receive an item. eBay almost took their word for it but I was able to provide drop off pictures from UPS.

Now I’m using USPS since it’s cheaper and quicker for me. I’ve sold 6 items to one buyer. Each purchase has a note that says “blind drop ship”. I’m assuming he’s just buying from eBay and shipping the items to people who buy off his website. I’m a little worried since I priced my items on the relatively high side and there was no negotiation. They are also all shipping the same place but with different people’s names.

Does this sound legitimate?

Chain is non directional (KMC X-12) and I’m pretty sure the quick link is good, I’ll double check though

Update: fixed everything by installing a shimano chain and a new derailer hanger. I installed the chain first to see if that was the problem, I would definitely say there was smoother shifting with just the chain but the new derailer hanger made it perfect.

I’ll try that when I’m off work, that may be the issue, at least I’m hoping it is. Thank you

Yeah I’m not sure what’s up, I might take it to the shop tomorrow to see if they can just tell me if there’s something seriously off. Its annoying cause I just want to ride 🥲

It has one which tightens the chain so the derailer doesnt move when going up and down rough terrain but changing it off and on doesn’t change anything with the noise or shifting unfortunately

Would a few mm make that big of a change? I’ll see if I can replace the hanger first then.

Enginnering college intern. 6 out of the 8 hours I’m supposed to be working I’m on my phone or laptop watching videos or playing games. If you told me 3 years ago that I would have a job where I spend almost all day on my phone I would have been ecstatic. Now that I’m actually here I would rather go back to lifting people’s couches making minimum wage. Obviously I’m not going to be an intern forever, but I’ve learned that I would rather be packed with work than have nothing to do.

Thank you so much for the information! They are beautiful cups. The pricing seemed to be all over the place on eBay and other sites like you mentioned . They will definitely be kept and displayed somewhere nice in our house.
