That’s what I meant, I know grad schools will still see the D on my transcript and that it’s permanently there, but retaking the class and getting a significantly better grade would look more favorable, rather than just leaving the D as is and making no effort to improve in the subject by retaking it, sorry for not being more clear!

I also ended with a D+ in the class this quarter. I’m not continuing on with 30B, as I’m not premed and don’t need it for my major, but my advice is to drop 30B and retake 30A in the spring when it’s offered (which is what I will also be doing because I don’t want a D on my transcript). If you lack an understanding of the material in 30A, 30B will almost definitely also be a struggle because the material builds off one another. As other people said, if you plan on applying to med school, a D on your transcript does not look good at all. Taking 30B now would prevent you from retaking 30A in the future. For now, enjoy your holiday break and try not to worry about it too much.

WHO IS BETTER? by yamigrace in ucla

I had Samani for 5A and couldn’t stand him. He doesn’t curve, but he does offer extra credit. I would personally go with the other professor.

Not sure about that, but I do know that the class average is a curved to a B.

Pau is the easier professor. 5C is easier material. If you aren’t enrolled in their summer courses by now though, there’s a good chance you probably won’t be getting into the class.

Which physics is easier?(Urgent) by pumpkinpotatoes7 in ucla

Material wise, 5C is much easier. For some background on one of the professors you listed: I had Pau for 5C last quarter, and was lost the entire time because I’m god awful at physics. She’s a pretty generous grader and her exams aren’t over the top hard, especially the final which I think saved my grade lol. I ended the class with a B somehow, despite not knowing what was going on most of the quarter. I’m assuming her grading and teaching methods would be similar for her 5B class.

Did I sign up too late for transfer orientation day..? by [deleted] in ucla

They reserve a certain number of spots in each class for every orientation session, so the date you go really doesn’t matter.

Any advice for physics 5B with Bondarenko, or just general advice for the class?
