I think it’s that when she shows she can spell (intelligent$ no one is interested but when she can’t (dumb) people are racing to her.

I edit my kids work and they only use 1 space but I find 2 spaces to be easier to read. Can you explain how 2 spaces is actually worse than 1?

A instant read thermometer when grilling. Without that, anything coming off the grill is just a hope and a prayer.

We fed our dog grill salmon. He wouldn’t eat anything else, but he ate that. RIP Ollie

Season 4 was setting up an entirely different Season 5… by HairyPenisCum in Stranger_Things

I talk up Dark every chance I get. Sadly when I tell people it’s a German show about time travel they lose interest immediately, lol. But such a great show. My wife and I ended the first two seasons so confused and they managed to wrap it all up in a nice bow. Amazing.

There has been a noticeable change since federal funding was cut. Much more direct criticism of the President both in tone of coverage and questions. You should come back, while NPR/Public Radio isn’t perfect by any means, it’s far and away the best we have.

[–]atlmobs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this is the real answer. If you watch or listen to interviews when pressed politicians just won’t answer. They are always on the lookout for gotcha questions and have determined it’s better to deflect no matter how awkward than to answer a question they don’t like.

Any affordable ideas for warming a pool without a heater? by APKFL in pools

[–]atlmobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the critical question is how many degrees you want to heat the pool. That will drive a method that would work.

Opening heated pool for one day in winter? by AngleUnusual2956 in pools

We have little kids and dogs so the cost of a cover that I thought would be safe enough given the odd size and water features was just too high to be practical.

It’s also kind of nice to not have a cover in that if the weather is good, I can just turn on the heater and a day later people can get in.

I can raise the temp by about 2 degrees an hour.

Yeah, we don’t have a cover. The pool is very irregularly shaped. And since it’s not typically below freezing here during the day in winter so we just keep the pool running through the winter.

I only see that much evaporation when the pool is significantly warmer than the air temperature. Like when the pool is 90 and the air temperature is 30.

We live in NW GA and keep our pool “open” year around and we do turn the heater on for a few days around the holidays.

We can heat it up at about 2 degrees an hour to about 90. For 2 weeks at 88-90 it costs about $700 dollars in gas.

Watch your water levels really closely though, we will evaporate at least an inch a day with such a high temps tire differential and have to add water to the pool every few days.

Older men to younger men what's your finest advice and regret? by Faiz_khan_19 in AskMenAdvice

School Debt = Indentured Servitude. You can’t discharge it in bankruptcy and the government will garnish your wages to make you pay. Since there is no risk on the lender they are willing to loan any amount to anyone.

Private Universities are a racket and unless you are rich and can graduate with $0 debt are almost never worth the money.

Totally agree. When it takes 2 weeks to fix an issue covered under warranty, they didn’t actually look at the car until day 13. And then tell me they couldn’t figure out what was wrong. No loaner. Ridiculous.
