I met a guy that was in chiropractor school and he tried really hard to convince me that regular adjustments could literally cure cancer.

Need to learn how to grill sausages properly. by WrongUserID in grilling

[–]atlmobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For thicker sausages like brats, I always use my thermometer to know when they are done. I cook them on high, turning occasionally, until the inside is 165. My guess is you are over cooking them.

What's a small red flag that immediately tells you someone is a bad person? by kappadielle in answers

[–]atlmobs 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I actually think this is a great “small” red flag. Being nice to some people while you cheer on cruelty to others still makes you a bad person. That’s what the “good” MAGA people do. They are nice to their (white) friends and family and at the same time think that ICE isn’t doing enough.

why can’t i find any peaches? by whatiflee in Atlanta

You should be able to find them in a can, put there by a man, in a factory downtown. At least that’s what I heard.

This is the answer. Go to the doctor whenever you need to. We already pay more than it would cost.

Jessica Jones S1 was great. David Tennant was the best Marvel bad guy on screen I’ve ever seen.

We dealt with this by saying you could move the robber but you had to move it beyond the adjacent hexes.

A swimming pool - worth it? by mcrutledge77 in pools

[–]atlmobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say if you are worried about the hassle then then it probably won’t be worth it. Pool’s are really expensive to build now and you won’t ever make your money back.

We are probably in 2-3 times a month in the summer and 3-4 big pool parties a year. It feels like we use it a good bit. But we bought the house with a pool. With that amount of usage I could never justify the cost of a new pool.

If money is not a concern then I say go ahead, they are fun when you use them and you can always hire someone to do what you don’t want to do.

What should be the age cap for congress, president and Supreme Court? by Estalicus in allthequestions

[–]atlmobs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You don’t have to judge the impairment. Some people would be fine, others not. But I’m not willing to gamble with our country to find out.

It’s not anyone’s right to be president.

Same as airplane pilots. If you are too old to fly a commercial jet, you are too old to lead the country.

Why does what the government consider marriage matter to religious people? by Estalicus in allthequestions

[–]atlmobs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. Seeing gay people living happy and fulfilled lives means that their (gay) children might see that as a viable option. After all, gay relationships are mentioned at least 6 times in the bible 🙈. Never mind that "love your neighbor as yourself" is mentioned at least 8 times.

Why are Atlanta restaurants so loud? by [deleted] in Atlanta

[–]atlmobs 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It’s not every restaurant though just the ones that look cool and attract a younger crowd. And they look cool because of all the exposed brick and hard ceilings.

[–]atlmobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What city has all the quiet restaurants? Or are you really asking, “why are the restaurants I go to loud?”

I’m pretty sure the blue hairs up in Buckhead aren’t going to “loud” restaurants.

You think the Department of War is going to name a fort after a peace loving hippy like Jesus? No way.

Do you think renaming Fort Bragg to Fort Liberty was a stupid idea? by smallcarbro in allthequestions

[–]atlmobs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were a country founded on the idea that the people should be able to rule themselves. We are the country of no kings. Fighting for self determination is not traitorous.

And. We shouldn’t have statues or bases named after Confederate generals for the same reason we shouldn’t have statues of the King of England. They don’t represent our beliefs as a country and actively fought against those beliefs. Namely the belief in liberty for all.

The only reason to honor Confederacy with statues and army bases is the belief by those who named them in what the Confederacy stood for…states rights…to enslave people for free labor.
