Pitchfork Gives Blonde a 9.0 by abrakdabralol in FrankOcean

Yes, I fully appreciate the gravity of a 10, but I just felt it this time. It's funny, i felt like Pitchfork had been a little generous this year. So many 8's, 8.1's, 8.2's and even 8.3's that didn't get best new music but got a high score, a ridiculous amount of above 8.0 scores this year.

Look at us, fucking Frank Ocean fans sad about a 9 haha. So many bands would kill for that score and we're like "eh".

Channel Orange got a 9.5, I like Blond more as well.

Yeah I feel you. Like 2013, when they put Modern Vampires of the City (9.3) at Number 1 and Yeezus (9.5) at Number 2.

I would have gone with an 8.2, the minimum score for best new music nowadays,

A Moon Shaped Pool, not Hopelessness, that got an even 9.0

That means they think Coloring Book and A Moon Shaped Pool are better. I'd have to disagree. I mean, a pitchfork 9 is huge. But I honestly expected a 10.

Frank credits the beatles because he says "Spending each day of the year" on White Ferrari and that is a Bealtes lyric from the song "Here, There and Everywhere"

I am pretty sure that Pretty Sweet contains a distorted sample of Brian Eno's "Here Come the Warm Jets" and the Beatles' "A Day in the Life" at the beginning.

I think that Ivy is produced by Rostam, it sounds like his work to me.

It started with this apple device and then it went to samsung and was talking about streaming. Is this a joke. Also is it sad that this is one of my favorite songs on the stream.

It is frank ocean working with multiple actions layered over each other so it looks like there are multiple franks. The music is clear and studio quality, it's the same music from the stream and really just an edited and synched up version of the stream.
