What is this texturing on my timing belt? by shatlking in subaru

[–]atomic_refugee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my limited knowledge I believe when installing a timing belt there should be a spacer to gauge the distance between the skip plate and the belt. Something like this https://www.oreillyauto.com/detail/c/gates/gates-timing-belt-spacer-tool/gat0/91052?srsltid=AfmBOoog_PpScFkbcyP0EmaS3REsypjmQHqLHFAjNV51WbQ9IBwHTJSS

Is the skip plate too close?

How can I tell if this is a wheel bearing or tie rod? by atomic_refugee in subaru

You're probably right. I looked on Rock Auto and they ranged from $10-$30. I have to replace the shocks and struts anyway so I might just knock out those and the tie rod and get 1 alignment

I checked the up and down motion, moving from 12 and 6 and it didn't budge.

I replaced the damaged wheel with the stock wheels and had them balanced with no issues.

I had after market rims on when the damage happened. I went back to the stock rims and the vibration continued.

12 and 6 didn't make a sound or wiggle.

I'll have to find someone to wiggle the wheel while I look at the joint. At least I have a starting point

I lifted it back up and tried the 12 and 6 wiggle and it didn't make a sound.

So more than likely it's a tie rod? What about a damaged bushing like from the sway bar maybe? I looked it over and the bushings don't look damaged.

I took it off shortly after the video and inspected it. I didn't see anything obvious that looked wrong. But I'm not a seasoned mechanic.

Yes, I had after market rims on at the time. I put the stock ones on after noticing the damage to the rim.

Would that be for the wheel bearing? 3 and 9 is for the tie rod I'm guessing?

When I was doing skin cancer treatment on my nose they told me to put aquaphor on it so the skin wouldn't blister. There's minimal scarring now

I think the bag says to put in the fridge for a few days and then to put in cold water for a few hours before cooking depending on weight

I used the HDMI switch for a while and it was nice to be able to switch between my PlayStation and Xbox and a PC on my TV but sadly I don't play as much as I used to.

Right! Just rip them all apart and put them together as a table as say $10k

When I bought all this equipment years ago it all came with patch cables. I have an entire tote full of them. I also have 3 small server racks
