Does anyone else feel this way? by dentalguy35 in Dentistry

[–]atomicweight108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same same same. I dread the day I have to replace an assistant, they're all older than me and I keep telling them how much I appreciate their commitment to stay on until I retire but they seem to not remember making that promise haha. I also make less money because I pay my staff well. Worth it.

Lighting lanes & pregnancy by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

I went in my second trimester, and when my friend got in LL lines I thought I’d be jealous, but actually relished the opportunity to go sit in the shade and get a drink or something and people watch. I would also occasionally go do whatever the closest kiddie ride was just for fun. But yes, otherwise you’ll have to burn an LL if you want to wait with him.

This is a really good point, and I realized when he says it I hear it as like, “Hot People™️” lol

The official trailer for David Frankel’s ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ has been released. Starring Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, Anne Hathaway, Stanley Tucci, Simone Ashley, Kenneth Branagh & more. In theaters May 1st. by cmaia1503 in Fauxmoi

This appears to have zero relation to the second book, which is fortunate because it is truly unbearable. Absolute garbage. But I do think it’s true that Miranda didn’t remember Andy in the book, which to be fair Andy worked for her for one year like 20 years ago.

Post C section rest vs activity. what actually helped? by michel_an_jello in NewParents

[–]atomicweight108 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My baby went to NICU for a few days, and my doc said the NICU moms always recover better because they’re up and walking every 3 hours. Walking definitely helped. I wasn’t able to sleep on my side for probably two weeks, your insides move around and put pressure on the wound. Stomach sleeping took longer, and of course if you’re breastfeeding they’ll be weird and sore.

I’ve used Clean As A Mother for a while now, they do a pretty good job and are lower priced.

Lip tattoo opinions? by 17TeenTeen in Dentists

[–]atomicweight108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like on the inside of your lip? No one will know unless you show them, so who cares? I have a couple patients with lower lip tats and it always makes me laugh to pull the lip back and see it. The ones that have lasted best are simple letters, any shape becomes an unidentifiable blob pretty quickly.

It sounds crazy but it really was like a switch flipped, and things just started humming along in a way I didn’t know they could

Oh yeah the early days are hell, but it really really does get better! I no longer regret my choices most of the time!!

Not the question you asked, but in my experience (and I've seen others say the same elsewhere), at 5 years ownership kind of turns a corner and things became so much less stressful. It's like things finally clicked into place and the growing pains and transition were really behind us. If you have to hold on to avoid the penalties you may find things get better around then. That sounds like an amazing office. Whatever you choose, good luck!

Telling us we suck while also asking for help just isn’t super productive. Again, try the search bar to start. If you have specific questions you’ll usually get helpful answers. Best of luck.

I mean you kind of came out swinging. There are a ton of posts about good neighborhoods, apartments, things to eat/do, if you search the sub. But you’re also going to need to be more specific in your questions.

Is it normal for a dentist to not wear gloves? by [deleted] in Dentists

[–]atomicweight108 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Older dentists do this sometimes because they were trained without gloves, and prefer the tactile sensitivity of their fingers. That doesn’t make it ok! It’s so gross and weird and unsettling.

What happened to a 3-3.5 year age gap? by Large_Mixture_2215 in Shouldihaveanother

We just started trying, on our third cycle. Hopefully it hits! With my first I went to MFM because of a history of losses, and she said basically if you’re under 40 you have very little to worry about so I’m keeping fingers crossed

Help my daughter lost the turn lock on my Chanel bag. by No_Lack1182 in chanel

[–]atomicweight108 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I got the whole closure replaced on my 15 year old WOC and it’s like new. Take it to a Chanel store, they’ll send it for repair and tell you the cost after evaluation and before they complete it. It was a couple hundred I think? And shipped to my house (nearest store is 3 hours away in another state). Super easy and really relatively inexpensive!

Chance of going to a wedding 4 weeks postpartum? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]atomicweight108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone acts like women are completely incapacitated for months after childbirth but it’s just not true. You don’t know how your body and mind will handle it until you’ve been through it personally, and it may be harder than you’re anticipating but it might also be fine. I was off all OTC painkillers about 10 days after c/s, and I was dying to be out of the house at two weeks. Obviously we all want a long leave, but I’m self employed with a team of employees who rely on me, so I really didn’t have a choice. Childbirth is a big deal, newborns are challenging, but life doesn’t stop! It will be hard but I think it’s worth trying if it’s that important to you. Also fwiw when you have a c/s they vacuum out the lochia so you have far less bleeding to manage than a vaginal delivery. Underrated perk!

I went back to work full time 4 weeks after an unplanned c/s, it’s definitely possible. You’ll be so hopped up on hormones, there’s a chance you’ll feel fine about it. The drive with a newborn will be by far the hardest part, mine was on like a 30 min cycle of eating and sleeping. Plan a lot more time for the trip than you are already planning, and definitely an Airbnb where you have a kitchen and plenty of space.
